i followed your advise po, i called again the CEM today and i was able to talk to a different call center rep. i asked her specifically -- As a wife of a live in caregiver in calgary , am i qualified to apply for SOWP?
her answer was the same with what the previous reps told me -- yes, i am qualified to apply for SOWP. she gave me the requirements and the forms i need to fill up.
im thinking po, its worth trying kc i confirmed it naman po 4x and they all gave me the same answers...
sana nga po mging okay dn.... parang ngaun p lang po kc kinakabahan n ako....

Sa Nationwide kami nagpamedical last Sept.26, then forwarded Oct.6 and OCt.10, yun sa amin ng isang anak ko. Nadelay yun isa, kasi repeat xray, Oct.24 na naforward kahit nagpaXray agad kami ng Oct.3. So expect ko noon, mga Nov24 pa ang visa namin. But in God's grace, twas released Nov.10. Received ko sa bahay ng Nov.15. By that time pa lang nagsimulang mamili...sigurista lang hehe kaya cramming ako. Dami ko pang naiwanan, kasi nagfly na agad kami ng Dec.4.

All kinds of shoes and sandals and slippers, dalahin mo na. Kasi expensive dito, saka di kasing ganda dyan sa atin. Halos yun isang luggage ko ay puro mga sandals, rubber shoes, formal shoes, espadrille, slippers(pambahay at panglabas) namin ng mga bata. Baka may magandang boots dyan, bilihin mo na din. Dito it costs $100 or less, try to compare.

Nabasa ko na may nagpost na magdala ng party dress, formal dress- tama yun... saka jogging pants na din. Damit na pangsummer at winter.

Always think positive, do not entertain negative thoughts para di stressful ang paghihintay ng visa.

Hi, sis. Narinig ko na yan sa mga kakilala dito sa Canada and it was confirmed by milleth's post on page 164... under alberta SOWP application deadline is july 30 2012.

Hi denissed! It's really worth trying na, kasi 4x ka na nagconfirm, and unanimous YES ang sagot nila.. and I think you should include that in your cover letter.. And please update as immediately ha,.. kasi I have a cousin whose wife was already there (Vancouver) for 4yrs now, and still hindi pa din nila alam paano dadalhin ang family nya dun.. Live-in Caregiver din sya... So if ok yung application mo, I'll inform him and his wife immediately... Thanks for this info I hope and pray maging successful yung application mo.. God bless ^^

sis, that refers to the pilot projects for open work permits (working-aged dependents (18-22) of skilled workers and spouses of long-haul truck drivers - and these are for Alberta only), not specifically to spousal open work permit. I checked both CIC and CEM websites and wala naman akong nabasa regarding sa deadline ng spousal work permit (for NOC 0, A & B).
