A bit less than life and death matter for a few people I know...I mean, some key decisions in their life are dependent on PR...like whether to buy property or not in home country, occupation of his future life partner (one guy said he is not interested in getting married to a doctor if he is settling in canada) etc.

Canada might not be about life or death, but would leave a massive void if it didnt happen...I believe this was what Adnan was referring to and not which you sensitive souls have taken as "If you dont get to Canada, will you jump from the highest building"

I for one enjoy these slight off-topic conversations, and to be honest I find people hijacking other peoples threads far more offensive than this.

Chill out.........This forum is for everyone, so if you find a topic ridiculous then simply do not reply.

Best of luck everyone on their Canadian journey!

Well for me it is. Im a F1 here in the US and I'll only be allowed to stay 1 yr here after I graduate. After that I have to go back home and there is NO way I can do that right now, not after 6 years of sacrificing everything and every penny... so yes for me it's a matter of life or death...

For some it might be a matter of life and death, especially if some come from war torn countries. Thats understandable. I hope and pray they do make it to Canada and stay safe.

Yes, and after their application is successful after an arduous immigration process, they tend to forget their past and where they came from, and become experts of the forum and honour themselves by giving 'specialist' advices to all and sundry. Without even asking themselves if their advice is needed or not.

Adnan, why do you say that some people give advice without being asked. I haven't seen a post where someone had asked someone else specifically not to answer. I think generally when people ask, they want everyone's advice and they'd take the best or most logical. Personally, i value the answers of those who have made it to Canada (like Leon and BCGuy) as much as those in the application process (like Bobby, Maharouf, rupeshhri, etc).

Much appreciated Colsy. It all depends on the thought process one chooses to pursue.

Without naming anyone here, if an asker responds to a poster in a reticent way on the basis that the poster was trying to deviate from the actual topic in their first reply, to me that does mean that their input is not required.

If someone applies to Canadian Immigration, gets admitted and comes to Canada, then it is just his destiny that leads him regardless of the reasons why he applied, we are only following marked steps in this life.

Bla!Bla!Bla! Waste of time; or better, time eater thread. Since I have nothing to do and no where to go on a Monday night, I will keep my eye on it. Keep posting. Estou adorando!!!

Oooops, I suppose you had nowhere to go last (Monday) night so thank you for giving us company. Next time I will try to post something like 'Canada PR for Sale' or 'Free help with getting into Canada'. I'm sure you'll respond differently to that.

Hi All.
Yes as time passes the Canadian PR option is becoming close to a matter of life and death for my family.
However I am an optimist and I believe it is darkest before dawn.
Everything will turn up just All Right at the end.
its just a phase guys...Just go through the motion...it is taking us to someplace better.
Cheers!!!

For me it is not a matter of Life and death since a P/R cannot promise eternal life. You cannot get a Permanent residence in Canada but u can get a P/r in heaven if u fulfill the rules laid by Visa officer i.e GOD ALMIGHTY.

Be it Canada, us , uk, australia or anywhere on this planet Death is imminent.

So plan and live accordingly.

For me its another venture........and will bring Lot of Uncertainity in my life............But i still wish to try.........:).

More specificly, not a matter of life or death in my current circumstances.

Sasidiop and the rest

I do not know what to say; This whole idea about applying for a Canadian PRV causes many reactions. The day you send the application, you are very excited and hope to get an answer the day after. After months and years pass by, you become negative and don´t know what to think. However, I must say it´s not a rule. Recently, I wrote to someone who has been waiting 6 years and still very hopeful.

Good luck to all of us
