Hi Leo,

Nice to hear from you and glad that you have already landed and staying in Mississauga.
I guess it Mississauga is by choice for most of the Asian expats to stay in the beginning
as most of my friends initially stayed here.

Anyways wish you all the best and we are still waiting for our # to come :'( :'(

Take care!!!

Just received our passports back from Nairobi VO office. Overwhelmed with a mixture of emotions, it's really been a heck of a roller coaster ride with many ups and downs. The federal investor program termintion, bill C-31 is in its final stages before receiving royal assent. At this rate it seems in 2 weeks or so it will pass. Now it boils down to those fortunate enough to have passed selection criteria before budget day or their application is finalized within the next few days.

This is my timeline:

- 26/08/2008: 'Simplified Application Process' form submitted
- 17/02/2009: "We started processing your application" showed on CIC Client application status
- 12/04/2013: Request for additional documents and forms (complete package); Schedule A, 1, 6 etc
- 22/06/2013: Submitted requested documents and forms
- 31/01/2014: Medical + police clearance instructions (VO sent this to wrong address, despite address change requested years ago)
- 12/03/2014: Found out forms were sent to wrong address, emailed VO, traced back mail from old address, retreived instructions
- 23/03/2014: Medicals completed
- 26/03/2014: Email from VO acknowledging wrong address, new instructions sent + PPR included!
- 22/04/2014: Submitted police clearance certificates, PP, RPRF, Proof of investment to intermediary, subcription agreement etc.
- 27/05/2014: Received instructions for Financial Intermediary to transfer funds to Receiver general for Canada
- 06/06/2014: VO email: "Finalized your application" + courier coupon request to return documents
- 12/06/2014: Received passports with visa
- 20/06/2014: PA + spouse hope to land at Pearson Intl' Airport
- 05/07/2014: US border landing for 2 children

Keeping fingers crossed, and good luck to everyone!

Congrats Noosh! ;D

Lets just hope everyone's gonna be hearing same news. Inn sha Allah

Thank you! PA just landed yesterday, went so smoothly less than 10 minutes with the immigration officer and 5 minutes for customs. The IO didn't ask any questions, incredibly friendly, just handed the CoPR documents and done. As others have said, just organize the B4 forms and your self-made lists, they love it when its organized. And voila, welcome to Canada.

Now border crossing left for the dependents, looking forward to a day of shopping in the States.

Hope good news can follow for others, it's a hell of a journey but that's life.

Congrats Noosh! Best of luck.

Just wanted to ask... you and your dependents are landing separately?

Yes we are going to land separately.

During your PPR, had you submitted your and your dependants' passports at the same embassy?

Hi Xpress,

yes I think I mentioned this before, as far as I know you have to submit everyone's passport together at the same VO. We had 2 passports couriered from Canada to TZ and then all of them couriered together to the VO in Nairobi. Tanzanian passports do not have any restrictions on this, so it was easy. But I know some countries, such as India, do not allow their passports to be couriered. Once you get your passports back then you can simply take your dependents' passports with you when you travel to Canada.

Yeah,

I've got two dependents (one in BC, Canada already, another in London, UK). I have made my application via Canadian Embassy in Islamabad (Pakistan), however in 2011, all PR cases were transferred to London's embassy.

I've read it somewhere that Pakistani customs do not allow passports to be couriered unless NOC is included. So, I need to plan for calling my dependants here.

Thanks again Noosh :D
