I have applied for EE-FSW.
Can i apply alone (though I'm showing as married in application).Reason for this is I'm loosing 15 points if i apply with family. I am planning to call them after 6-8 months. And then, after i get ITA and receive visa, request Canadian Embassy that i have my family and want to apply for them at same time.

Or Else, Can I bring them once i land there and receive the PR which takes i think 3 months.

Plz anybody clear this doubt which is more better.

Regards,

Raza

Yes you can select NON ACCOMPANYING option for all of your family members. Once you get PR card after reaching, you can apply using Family Sponsorship which takes around an year.

But you have to fill all information about your family and you HAVE TO get there medicals and Police Clearance Certificate.

And show funds for them as well.

you have to mention that you are married but your family is non accompanying. you still have to submit their medical, pcc and show proof of funds for them.

family sponsorship will take a year at least in addition to time taken to find a job as you would need a job to show that you can support them. would you be willing to live apart for that long?

assess your priorities before making a decision. what's more important - losing 15 points and waiting for an ITA or going ahead with the application and then living apart.

You would need fill family info now and you need there PCC and Medial now. I do not know the exact requirements for Family sponsorship but i believe you would need to do there medical and PCC again when you apply.

Again as said above, do think again as family sponsorship can take an year to get through and you can only apply for family sponsorship if you have a job whose salary can support your family. I am saying that just make sure you understand what exactly you are doing and pro and cons of both options. If you are still confused on any thing then ask on this forum but dont take this decision thinking that you ll gain 15 CRS points and you can call your family there within 6 moths, etc

Thanx everyone for your valuable inputs..
May i ask what is your score now and ielts score?am asking that because scores are dropping fast plus if your ielts score has a room for improvement that would be a better option compared to not sponsoring your family at the beginning

Hi Wolverine,,

My CRS is 311 points & my IELTS band overall is 7 [LSRW - 7.5,7.5,6,6]..and i dont see light at the end of tunnel for me even if i write IELTS again.

As i will need to score band 8 overall and have my spouse write IELTS too with a decent score.

My NOC is 2133 which was in Nova scotia till recently but now its not there in demand list.

I have only one option to make my spouse apply for student visa and tag along with her.Any idea how much time will it take to get PR via this route.
