Bro you are lucky... I am real unlucky.. My case was even processing faster then yours I got my medicals in Oct 2010..but then in security check they thought of me as some one else most probably a criminal or something then I had to wait for my interview meanwhile my medicals expired..can u imagine how unlucky I am.then in interview ofcourse they cleared me and my case was approved now I will be going again for medicals again this month.. I think it will be quick from now on as the immi officer put it..however when I see other people who applied with me almost everyone got visas... So kinda little bit disappointed cuz of that..

However I do have a question for you can you explain a little bit about your landing experience at point of entry.. I mean what do they ask and what happens...can you describe it in detail...?

Sohail,

I did my landing with the whole family and it was smooth: Welanded at Pearson Airport (Toronto) and did immigration, then went to the secondary checking which is basically where you become PR. The IO was very nice and asked just few questions such as address and how much funds we were carrying. Then, we signed the Forms, and left the Immigration Office and went to customs. There, nothing happened as the Officer just told us.. Welcome to Canada...

We rented a vehicle and went to a hotel where we stayed for 8-10 days... In the meantime, I exchanged my driver license, opened banking accounts, applied for SIN, Registered our children at schools, rented a house.

I went back to my previous country for 2 months to complete my job contract. On November, I came to Canada to start my new life. All those two months, my wife and children were here in Canada. (During these two months, I visited the family 3 times)

I am working within the same field I was working before. Things are starting to get going. Faith and Confidence is A+.

I went on and took a Language Training Program to better understand the Canadian Business Culture and it's paying off...

If you have any question, feel free to contact me...

I really hope you get your MR soon so you can get your PPR.

Okay so that means they don't ask a lot of questions or anything because I thought they again take interview upon landing or something... Another question is that how long does it take to receive our pr-cards..? And which picture is used on the pr card?? Is it the same they take alongwith application or is it some different that they request with ppr or maybe at point of entry.. Yeah bro I also hopeeverything goes smooth and fast from now on because I am sick and tired of this miserable waiting to be quite frank...

Sohail,

When we submitted all suportive docs, we sent 7 photos of each of us. They used one of those.

We received our PR Card 6 weeks. (We landed in the first week of september and on October 20th we got them by mail). More or less.

They usually don't ask that many questions. Just relax because overall, IOs are nice and respectful.

Just be patience.. You are almost there my friend. I have people here that waited almost 7 years to get them. OMG. But they made it...

Take care

Yeah that's true.. Some times I feel like being real unlucky lolx.. But I am holding on. Bdw bro which. Supportive documents are you talking about? Because I only sent initially 3 pictures with my main application and one of them was used on last medicals I received..so I am assume they don't have a lot of those pix now? Or will they ask me for those pictures at a later date??

Hi. I had applied in December 2009. I got the line 'We reviewed your application and started processing on 17 February 2012' showing on e-cas today. Now let's see where it takes me.

Hi Doglover,

How are you doing there? Hope you are happily settled there by now as you have been there for almost 20 months. Will really appreciate if you would share your success story of being in Canada and the the experience of journey so far. We have been reading lot of negative blogs lately.

Best regards,

Sunny
