Hi All,
I have been reading the forum for quite sometime now. I must say it has given me a fair idea of how the Canadian immigration system works. I am in a dilemma however and would appreciate inputs from anyone. Here's my situation:
Age: 34
Nationality and Current Residence: India
Education: Bachelors in Commerce from India
Experience: Almost 10 years in India however split into two NOC codes. Accounting/Retail and Trade Managers
IELTS: L-8.5, R-6.5, S-7.5, W-7.0
Now, considering my wife into the application, in total we add up 348 points which is way less than 450 (the minimum cut off) for direct ITA. So, I'll need Provincial nomination for sure. I am under the impression that in Canada there are better paying jobs only in Ontario, BC and Alberta. A friend who is in Canada tells me that. So, I am more interested in these provinces.
My questions are:
1) Do I stand a chance of getting nomination from these three provinces? I will re-write IELTS to make up for the 0.5 I lost in reading. There is no other way I can add up points as I don't know French and also don't have a masters.
2) Can I nominate two NOC codes to claim points for my total experience?
3) Is 400 the minimum that we need to have to be considered for Ontario, BC and Alberta PNP?
4) Is it true that there are no better job prospects in other provinces (for my skills)?
5) Another option is SINP which I see is closed now. How do I know when it opens? I hear it opens and gets full only in a few hours. Do I need to visit it's website regularly to see if it has opened?
6) If I get through with SINP can I still move to Ontario, BC or Alberta (for study or employment)? How much time one needs to spend in the province from which he/she has received nomination?
7) How does Manitoba and Quebec work? I don't seem to be eligible there as well.
8) There is Prince Edward Island which is a very small province. That might be a doorway to Canada, however, what's the point in moving to a province where survival becomes difficult. Please correct me if I am wrong here.
I understand these questions may seem to be asking for too much. However, I need inputs from anyone on this forum on any of these points. I don't want to depend on a consultant in India, as they are just after money here. No one gives a clear picture.
My confusion makes me want to give up and consider Australia, which is not my first preference.
Thanks to all for reading and will be waiting for responses. I shall clear further doubts as I receive responses.
Regards
