Hi All,

I have been reading the forum for quite sometime now. I must say it has given me a fair idea of how the Canadian immigration system works. I am in a dilemma however and would appreciate inputs from anyone. Here's my situation:

Age: 34
Nationality and Current Residence: India
Education: Bachelors in Commerce from India
Experience: Almost 10 years in India however split into two NOC codes. Accounting/Retail and Trade Managers
IELTS: L-8.5, R-6.5, S-7.5, W-7.0

Now, considering my wife into the application, in total we add up 348 points which is way less than 450 (the minimum cut off) for direct ITA. So, I'll need Provincial nomination for sure. I am under the impression that in Canada there are better paying jobs only in Ontario, BC and Alberta. A friend who is in Canada tells me that. So, I am more interested in these provinces.

My questions are:

1) Do I stand a chance of getting nomination from these three provinces? I will re-write IELTS to make up for the 0.5 I lost in reading. There is no other way I can add up points as I don't know French and also don't have a masters.
2) Can I nominate two NOC codes to claim points for my total experience?
3) Is 400 the minimum that we need to have to be considered for Ontario, BC and Alberta PNP?
4) Is it true that there are no better job prospects in other provinces (for my skills)?
5) Another option is SINP which I see is closed now. How do I know when it opens? I hear it opens and gets full only in a few hours. Do I need to visit it's website regularly to see if it has opened?
6) If I get through with SINP can I still move to Ontario, BC or Alberta (for study or employment)? How much time one needs to spend in the province from which he/she has received nomination?
7) How does Manitoba and Quebec work? I don't seem to be eligible there as well.
8) There is Prince Edward Island which is a very small province. That might be a doorway to Canada, however, what's the point in moving to a province where survival becomes difficult. Please correct me if I am wrong here.

I understand these questions may seem to be asking for too much. However, I need inputs from anyone on this forum on any of these points. I don't want to depend on a consultant in India, as they are just after money here. No one gives a clear picture.

My confusion makes me want to give up and consider Australia, which is not my first preference.

Thanks to all for reading and will be waiting for responses. I shall clear further doubts as I receive responses.

Regards

SINP is good and I don't know about any other Province. You have to get only one NOC advantage, I think NOC 1225 is suitable. SINP doesnt need your higher CRS points, only CIC pool NUMBER necessary. They concentrate about 60 points on their assessment grid. You have to spent 5 minutes daily to check website and related forums about intake opening.

Thanks Ashu! Do you think I need to re-appear for IELTS (for SINP)? or my score is sufficient?

Is it paper based or online? If online, which is the link to apply online? I see I am scoring exactly 60 points on SINP grid. Should I first get ECA done and then create and EE profile for CIC pool number? Or I can create the profile right away and then get ECA done?

For SINP OID Category, ECA is not necessary. For SINP EE, first have to registered with CIC EE pool.

Wow!!!

These are surely a lot of questions. I'll answer as much as I can.

1. Doing a Masters degree would have scored you more points but I guess its not really what you'll like to consider because by the time you are done with the Masters, a whole of things would have changed eg your current CRS score would have reduced because your age would have increased, your current IELTS result might have expired (IELTS results is valid for two years) etc. I would strongly suggest you go for provincial nomination. Each province has its own process, you'll have to visit their website to know what applies.

I know some of them will not nominate you if you didnt study or are not currently working in the province etc. They all have one restriction or the other. SINP seems to be the one with the most relaxed rules, only that your occupation must be in their on-demand list. They dont require you to have studied or worked there, have a relative there(though you could gain points for that) etc. I'm sure you already know that Saskatchewan is the province giving out the most nominations these days.

2.You can only choose one NOC. I advise you pick the one where you have more work experience. Also, if you intend to go through SINP, check if either of your NOCs is in demand there and focus on that NOC.

3. I have no idea.

4. My friend nothing is guaranteed. Even in BC, Alberta and Ontario.

5. Yes you have to monitor their site regularly. Create a profile on their OASIS web application and upload all required and supported documents and save them. When you hear they have opened, all you do is submit. The open slots get filled very quickly.

6. No one is really sure. I have not come across any document that states that you have to stay in the province that nominated you for x number of years b4 you can move to anoda province. The Freedom of Movement charter states that a Citizen or PR of Canada is free to live in any province he chooses. However, there have been cases of pple who left their province of nomination soon after arriving and when the authorities found out, they withdrew the nomination certificate. Tread with caution here.

7. The internet is your friend.

8. Yes, PEI is a small province but it could be a gud place to start.

Hope I've been of help.

Thanks! Ashu and Myson. At last I feel I am at a forum where there are good people willing to help. I was sick talking to consultants who won't talk without getting paid.

I seem to be a fit into 1225 skill code "Purchasing agents and managers". Ashu, as per you I don't need to get ECA done for OID. Will it be required at later stages? My concern is it will take time (1-2 months). So if it will be required at some point later, then I'll get it done now.

Inputs from Myson and others welcome.

I contacted an Agent two years ago and Paid ; He created my EE profile with CRS 396. Well EE draw dosent go below 450.
I think of now Applying via SINP. I have already filled all forms in OASIS Portal.
I have doubt only in One case.... I filled entire SINP myself...Only EE part was done by an agent ...What do i have to choose when OASIS asks me
Are you using a Representative ?
