Friends :- Regarding COPR:- who has received the same on these paper its mentioned "Not for Travel"...what does that mean, I already got passports with visa but I have this once confusion, what does this mean...., as per my knowledge, I am thinking its not valid if person does not have valid passport...

Please comment.

If you look at your visa, it says, Immigrant(single entry). COPR is linked to Immigrant visa and not meant for general travel(aka as a visitor) Hope this helps.

@rituji,
COPR(certificate of permanent residence) is primarily a document,as suggested by its name itself,which entitles the holder to acquire PR after completing the post-landing formalities.Overseas travel documemnt is only individual's VALID PPT with required visa.
Trust, this should suffice.

Hi All

I have not received any status update from Ottawa yet.

Two things:
1) I updated CPP-Ottawa about my status change. "Single" to "Married". I received a reply to send them the Marriage Certificate which I did and after that no reply till date. My details are there in the profile.
Can delay happen because of the marriage stuff? I have not added her to my file yet as the Visa office did not ask for any document yet.

2) On the other hand, my wife has applied Open Work Permit (as my spouse). The visitor visas were being rejected for spouses, hence, I went for this option as I am also on Work Permit.
It went to Chandigarh Consulate and is in process since 7th January. I do not know when they will process the same. Can anyone of you throw some light on this?
