I am about to send my full docs to new delhi visa office, my question is regarding POF, actually we have FD of required amount should i need to send original FD certificate or copy of that and wat shud i ask my Bank to give me in writing.I mean wat should be the matter of letter ?

You should NOT send your original FD. A notarised copy (if possible ask the Bank Manager to certify with Seal and date) or an ORIGINAL letter from the Bank confirming that you hold that FD on the date of issue will be sufficient. Secondly you MUST retain the FD and not encash it untill you get the Visa stamped on your Passport. Because the Vo may ask again for the POF and if you fail to show as earlier demonstrated, the case may be rejected. Even after the Visa Stamping you will need to carry funds with Proof upon Landing (like Cash/DD/TC/Funds transfer in your Account in Canada like Nova scotia Bank or ICICI*).


* These Bank accounts can be opened while in India after the stamping of your Visa.
Secondly Banks have their standard format for issuing such confirmation letters and may charge a fee for the issuance as service charge.
