Hi,

My parents got PR in Dec 2013 and their PR cards expired in Feb 2019. But they didn't stay here for long time due to health reasons. They were given PRTD in Oct 2022 and now they are here. There total stay in Canada is approx 90-95 days. Are we able to renew their PR cards as they were issued PRTD on H&C grounds as both are over 70 years old now. They are ready to stay here now bit would like to travel as I have a sibling living in US. If I apply for their PR card renewal will they be denied PR Cards.

Looking for help which is better way is better to apply for PR card renewal.

Does their PRTD say RC1? If so they can renew their PR cards. They still should remain in Canada for 2 years if they want to ensure no problems with their RO if they have only spent 90 days in Canada in the past 5 years. After the 1st 5 years you must meet the 730 days out of 5 years on any day. It becomes a rolling total not a 5 year period of time.
