What happen to Benjamin?

hi friends..........thank you all for your wishes.....
sorry could not post yesterday.........
let me share my experiences......first of all my weight was overweight by almost 15 kgs had tough time pataying ground staff of jet airways at kolkata but they agreed.

what a thrill it was to to hear india winning world cup, we were at Delhi airport clearing immigration formalities.... will never forget this experience i was dying to see india batting but damn it , there was no TV at IGI airport in the waiting lounge.

We landed at Pearson Intnl airport at around 1 pm local time.......in the flight we were given declaration form to fill like hw much money u r bringing and things like that.... I told the officer there that i m on PRV and landing for the first time, the the officer asked for the declaration form and hw much money i was carrying and directed me towards immigration counter.

at the immigration counter i was behind 3 people so it took only 15 minutes for my time to come , at the counter i was greeted by beautiful chinese officer , she asked me to show COPR and passport and again asked me hw much money i was carrying she asked me to sign the copr form but warned me not the touch the borderor it will be cancelled i was literally shivering thinking what if i accidently cross the border.... but it was ok she also cancelled my visa on the passport...
as i was about to get down to collect my baggage i was called by a canadian lady sitting at the desk near to the way to baggage counter and told me to collect the welcome kit.......(books, cds, bags etc) so nice of them
this people are really very helpful..........and always smiling...

next i collected my baggage after paying 2 dollars for the trolley.........and the officer at the exit directed me to CBSA counter...(the last formality) i was shocked to see at the counter that the officer was opening the bag and checking everything... i was scared coz i had brought medicine for my friend here almost 2 kgs..... but thank god my bag was not opened by them.. the officer there simply asked me hw much money i was carrying and in what form , he took out the form and started noting down cheque number and the cash............ but did not check the amount physically....regarding B4 form, i found they were not interested in that ,any ways i told them that i have the list of the goods, the officer took that and stamped on it ....... and directed me to the exit.......
what a feeling it was to become a PR...it was done in 45 minutes.........

got the sin number...... very simple process will open bank account today........

will share later......

one more thing i was greeted warmly by the evening snow fall............
regards,
benjamin

HI
HOW DID U LIKE CANADA SO FAR, IS IT REALLY THE DREAMLAND THAT THE WHOLE WORLD SAY IT IS? ARE U FEELING HOMESICK OR MISSING YOUR HOME COUNTRY?
GOOD LUCK FOR EVERYTHING

Loved your description of being warmly greeted by the snowfall. WELCOME, WELCOME to you and your family. I think of the courage of every one of the new immigrants when I am at YVR to meet friends and family. I see families pushing enormous trollies loaded with suitcases and various strapped boxes and wonder from which country they have come, what hopes and first impressions they have as they leave the airport and walk out to a cab. I just wish they all had family or friends there to greet them and make their transition as smooth as possible. I hope your Springtime settlement will be a happy one. All the best!

Welcome welcome welcome!
Hope you are enjoying your time and will enjoy even more in coming days!

Woohooooooooooooooo Cngratzzzzz and have nice timeeeee!!

Congrats Benjamin on making your dreamland and having a snowy welcome.. It wouldn't have been any better!!! Eagerly waiting to hear how you go about finding job. and also looking forward to hear your first week of experience.... All the very best mate and take care

Benjamin,

Wish you good for your new life in Canada. Please keep posted your experiences.
