yes i have paid them advance rental and their aprtment is getting vacant in february end some where and hence they will hold it up for me till april.... They usually have a waitlist on the apartments but as somebody whom I know stayed there for quiet a while, he was able to bargain it for me....

Hi All,

I wanted to know that if we land on a week day at toronto, can we get our PR, SIN and Health card done right from the airport itself? I heard that now a days they have counters at the airport to apply for the SIN number but not sure about rest of the cards. Let me know if you have any information on the same...

thanks for the info about your accommodation.
it is actually better to land on a weekday, so that certain important government services would be operational.
they don't work on sat and sun.
yes, they have introduced booths for obtaining SIN, PR card (only application) at airport itself. not sure about medical card
still better to cross check with someone in toronto.

I still haven't booked my flight but I am planing to fly on 31 January: Skopje - Ljubljana; Ljubljana - Brussels; Brussels - Toronto; Toronto - Calgary.
I plan to book the flight to Calgary at least 8 hours after my supposed landing in Toronto as to have enought time to pass all the formalities. BTW I am coming as temp worker.
I hope to land in Calgary by 2nd of February.
Boy it will be a journey... 2,5 days, I hope to survive it.

I will arrive in Calgary at 1 am, does anyone know what to do till morning is there free wifi, places to eat.

Still unsure about many things....
I wish I was coming to Edmonton coz many of you folks are going there so someone might help me in my settlement.
But I will try my luck in Calgary.
If anyone is going for Calgary around this period please PM me so we can get in touch.

yes, calgary airport has free internet browsing and a variety of places to indulge your mouth-buds.

i am recently working in London. actually i m from nepal. i am going to vancouver end of jan with families. i am not sure about the job situation there. i am planning engineer. if not suitable job got, i would like to back to london with my recent job. but for certain period my family will be there. can i return to london within 3 weeks? or is there any mandatory condition to be stay there for certain period? i know my visa will be cancelled and i have to wait for couple of weeks to get pr card. is it possible to fly back without having PR card? i can get it back by courier later on.

its wise to stay and get you PR card atleast. 30 to 45 days. no idea if you can get it by courier or through someone in canada.
regarding job opportunities, no one can give you a guarantee that you will get your "dream salary" job immediately upon landing. it will depend upon your luck, networking, timing and faith in god. it could take more time than you expect.

My younger brother got his Maple leaf today and would be flying to Vancouver on 10th Jan ( visa expires on 30th Jan 2014) . tickets to be confirmed tomorrow.

He is flying from India .
My sister is there to pick him up. and after staying for 3 days he will move to edmonton ( another sisters house) .
