Hello, since many have received their stamped passports this month and in November, request those who have already made the journey from India to Canada to please share their experience here.

Can you please tell us what airlines/flight routes you used ? Are there particular flights to be avoided ? Did you get the COVID test done ?

What kind of documentation did you carry to show eligibility? And what were the procedures involved first before getting the boarding pass and on landing ?

Am sure many have these questions. Would be great if we could consolidate this info here.

Regarding Airlines i would suggest you to book a direct flight than taking a stopover somewhere in the current Covid 19 situation. Air Canada has a direct Mumbai to Toronto flight. Check whether its operational in current situation. I have travelled many times on this sector and rate it a 5 star.

Ya the Mumbai to Toronto flight was the best but it seems to have been stopped under the current rules. The only direct flight is from Delhi I guess.

Anybody can help with this Info ? Do family class PR applicants who are doing their landing need to use a particular flight ? Are we restricted to Air India or can we use any of the available flights ??

Only Air Canada and Air India non stop from Delhi to Toronto / Vancouver are flying under airbubble between the two countries. No other flight will allow you to board for Canada.
Document require to board the flight is PR card copy of the son/ daughter and Birth certificate showing the relationship.
Download ArriveCan app in the mobile and fill the details.

This is incorrect. Any flight is possible although flights through the UK are likely not flying at the moment.

As others suggesting here , even if OK to Stopover, it is advisable to get DIRECT FROM INDIA TO CANADA ANY AIRLINE like 14--15 hrs flight most likely from DEL IGI Airport = worry free of hassles of doing many securities, covid checks etc.. , I had to get direct flight next year from Canada as I had a flight via London be4. Now I have lost money neither B.A. wants to cancel that ticket nor travelgenio want to give me any refund . Both are fault as to why the Agency issued a ticket when there was a BAN for CDN to board from UK? And B.A. also should not let us buy tickets knowing that problem.
It is all due to new Bubbleair Agreements
Accoring to Bubbleair agreements had been problems with any stopovers however I heard those were going Canada to Delhi via London, even CDN citizens were NOT allowed to board. Please check/read this link;-
https://www.civilaviation.gov.in/en/about-air-transport-bubbles

https://traveltriangle.com/blog/india-canada-air-bubble-agreement/

Coming from India to Canada via UK is not advisable due to recent New Covid problem, ON TOP CANADA has banned any flights from UK till DEC ?? something... however it reads on their website ;-
"Check if you need a UK visaWill you pass through UK border control?
You always pass through border control if you:
  • leave the main airport building for any reason
  • need to collect your bags and check them in to your onward flight
You must also pass through border control if both:
  • your onward flight leaves on a different calendar day to when you arrive
  • there’s nowhere for you to stay overnight in the airport, for example in a transit hotel"

No, you are wrong. Only flights under airbubble agreement between India and Canada are carrying passangers between India and Canada. You book tickets with Emirates, Ethiad, Lufthansa - None of the flight will allow you to board from India for Canada. You can check with Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for a clear picture. Don't mislead others, their money will stuck with airlines.

Thanks for a nice reply which added up to our knowledge base

I have already suffered by losing thousands and will try to DISPUTE those charges with Travelgenio who ripped me off by giving me Ticket which was NOT VALID

"In a new order passed by the Government of India, international flight ban has been extended till 31 December by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic." - It's going to be extend everymonth till March 2021 as of now. Wait for a couple of days and you see the 31st December has extended till 31st January.

Dear why are you talking for others, just call any Airlines like Lufthansa, Airfrance etc flying through Europe or even Air Canada with a stopover in Europe and find out the truth. Anyway my purpose to alert with truth of Airlines who Issue the tickets and last moment cancel the same. Rest all depends on people plan to travel and their alertness. Thanks

Can somebody who recently landed please also share their experience ? Some procedures must be definitely different than the usual.
