If you don't mind a stopover in Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific allows 23kg X 2 = 46 kg per pax.

Flights bound for North America from India have baggage limit of 2 *23 = 46 per passenger and a hand bag max weighing 8 kg, plus a laptop bag. It is irrespective of visa type.
If someones is travelling on a flight first landing in Europe and then there is connection flight arranged not by the airlines but by your travel agent , then it can be considered a flight from India to Europe and then only one baggage is allowed, for the other one may have to pay $50-100. Talk about this before you buy your ticket.

Dear Friends,

Factors to be considered while finalising a flight :

  • 1. Price of the ticket
  • 2. Baggage allowance offered
  • 3. Number of stops , total journey time

I guess for most of us who got the visa recently, and are going to canada for the first time, the ticket price is the most important factor of all and the route of the flight is not that important.

I will be more than happy to travel in a " less reputed " flight if it offers lower fare .......

Please share which flight you are opting for and we will discuss its pros and cons before finalising.

Thanks

NO

All the major air lines and their code share/ partner airlines are allowing checked baggage allowance to passengers to and fro Canada or US sector as follows :-

Checked Baggage allowance – USA/Canada - Piece concept:

Economy Class

Free Baggage Allowance: 2 pieces per passenger
The dimension each piece should not exceed 62 inches
The weight of each bag must not exceed 23 Kilos(50 pounds )

The passenger has to pay $50 towards excess baggage if the weight exceeds 23 kg upto 32 kg.
No single baggage is allowed weighing above 32 kg.

Regarding the airlines ticket fare, there is no fixed rate and it goes on changing according to the season. Especially when more traffic is expected like Christmas- New year and Summer vacation because most of the flights are fully booked during that period. Therefore, in order to find lowest ticket rates, you need to compare rates of different airlines, local travel agents or online booking agencies.
