Guys, as I already mentioned before that I have my student visa approved before 18th march and a travel support letter from my PhD supervisor which mentions that my presence is necessary in the university laboratory to carry out field and lab work. So with this letter will I be allowed to board the flight and travel to Canada or any other authorization from ircc is required?

You also need to have documents supporting your self quarantine plan. Eg- a lease/ residence letter, how you will get necessary goods and services for 14 days etc.

In many universities, on-campus residences are providing these faculties.

I don't think so but you should confirm it with someone else (like your university's International Students department).
okkk...thank you...they have already said that they cannot issue it and only my professor should be able to do it as he knows better that my presence for lab work is mandatory. So based on their reply I have got the support letter from my professor.. but still getting worried.

Hiii Shahin! Great to hear that you've planned your travel! Do you mind advising about which airlines & route you have booked through please?

Plus, as you've asked earlier, can we Indian students with Canadian student visa, board any other flight apart from Air India & Air Canada from here?

I am trying to plan my travel too....

Apart from Air India and Air Canada, there are students gone through Lufthansa this week. No problems faced. Spicejet has chartered flights which allow students too. Nowadays they are allowing in all these, you just need to be brave as in India, Immigration officers are trying to confuse students so that they can deny boarding to them. BTW you need to answer them perfectly and without confusion they will let you in.
There will be more flights in coming days.
Air India and Air Canada are known for overbooking so they try to deny students in ways that have no concepts in reality. so better to avoid these airlines till there is less rush for them.
As Travel Support letter from college/uni. is must to pass Indian Counters....

I would suggest air india and air canada would be the best options.. I am not sure about other airlines... Couple of days ago when i had spoken to lufthansa they had said they were waiting for indian govt's approval to fly students as they were only flying canadian citizens. Since last sunday i booked my ticket I did not contact other airlines ..so presently don't know if they are taking students. The second reason I chose air canada because from my city to new delhi its air india and from there to montreal via toronto also air canada and its on one PNR which is more safer, so I am avoiding entry into any third country from safety point of view as well. Air india tickets from india to canada were impossible to get until last sunday, so i booked air canada which i feel is a good option from baggage point of view as well.

Any more queries most welcome :)

Thanks a lot for the reply, Gursewak! I was thinking that we are allowed to board only Air India & Air Canada as of now...

When did they allow students with Canadian Visa to board the Lufthansa & Spicejet flights yaar?

Weren't Lufthansa flights only for those whose final destination is Europe?

Thanks a ton for the reply, Shahin! I hope your journey goes smooth & great!

I agree it's better to not go through a 3rd country & straight go to Canada from Delhi....

I just wanted to ask whether you had directly booked for a ticket on Air Canada's website or through a travel agent? Considering whigh will be advisable that's why...

And any idea about the documentary requirements of Air Canada? Like did you get any clarification from Air Canada people about what documents they need from students to allow us boarding? I'm trying to call them as well nowadays...

Once again, hopefully everything goes well for you with your travel. Thank you so much!!!

Also Gursewak, any idea / information whether Air Canada is allowing students to board easily without demanding for unnecessary documents? Has any Indian student travelled through Air Canada already till now?

I hope Air Canada allows us if we have the Visa before March 18th!
