Try going to Canada via US...lets see if they let you board the plane without transit visa...If you dont have complete information...please do not give half info to people who are seeking help.
I appreciate your point about Singapore which is correct...but saying that any airport you will not need transit visa is incorrect.

You are right most countries if you are in the transit zone you dont need anything, however, recently Some European countries (Germany, UK etc) have imposed transit visa requirement for Indian nationals - Which means Direct Airside Transit ( even if you are in transit zone - you need visa before boarding the flight) ....
The above was already imposed by USA - for past 5 years....even if you dont go through immigration and board a flight in the same terminal of the same airport. Please check your facts.

UK, Germany ? even to date, every 3rd passenger from India travels in Lufthansa or BA without a transit visa..

i do hold a B1/B2 visa of USA..guess i m spared the trouble u mentioned..yeah,its an issue to get a transit visa for USA, but for UK, Dubai..i have known indians who took a halt for 2,3 days there n continued their 2nd leg of journey to their destinations..

I am from dubai :p....just so you know Dubai you need visa for 2-3 day halt...if its just transit - no visa. For UK if you have a green card or valid canada visa you are exempted..most other cases - you need transit visa...
Yes lot of indians can..it depends on what visa they have - if they have PR or green card or canada visa direct transit - no transit visa required. If you are going from Mumbai - frankfurt - london- Canada - Transit visa is a must (i.e. two stops in europe)

Couple of years back when i traveled london or frankfurt there was no need of transit visa at all irrespective of your Canada/US visaa - now things have changed.

All I wanna say here is -- just coz you hear people say i traveled and took halt at this place...does not necessarily mean he/she did not get a transit/visit visa before hand...the person could also be US/canadian citizen with OCI ( permanent indian status more like dual nationality)...in such cases most countries allow visa free stay and travel upto three months.

Hello Swathi,

I traveled in Egypt Air business class on 9th September 2013, it was a very good deal and the flights are good too. If you are travelling from Mumbai to Toronto you have 13hrs Transit, Transit passengers will get accommodation in Le Meridian Hotel, Cairo along with the food. You dont need visa to go out. The tricky part is airline desk will collect the passport when you leave the airport and they will hand over once you return. I even went out for 3 hrs Pyramid tour. I am so scared at first when i purchased the ticket because that time there is a political unrest in the country and the city is under curfew. But once after reaching i liked the place and people, they are so friendly.

if you need any information you can ask me, i am a frequent traveler, trip writer and an IATA approved travel agent.

Also hows Air Canada and Air France compared to BA ? Any1 here travelled those ?

For students British Airways allows 3 check in bags. All you have to do is book your ticket either from yatra.com or makemytrip.com . Once you're done with that call the respective operator and tell them you're traveling as a student. They'll make the necessary changes and you'll get a mail after they update it to 3 bags. Air Canada and Air France are good but they won't allow you to carry 3 check in bags. Hope this helps.
