Flight booking panic :o

Hello ppal,

IM getting a bit worked up with regards to booking a flight from Mumbai to Toronto and the Exorbitant fares.

I came across EgyptAir flight, however not sure if its a good deal as the layover time is 13hrs in Cairo.

Please suggest !!

When do you wanna fly? 13 hours is a lot haha...see your options. And fares are pretty high in december - it is holiday season in canada. You cant help it. What do you wanna know anyways?

Try KLM, check if you need transit visa - or British Airways - or via US ( you need transit visa or US visa for this)....For trips via london I am not sure - Last time I travelled - I did not need a transit visa...but I have read people being confused about this.
You can also try via Hong Kong .

I realize that the fares will be high due to the festive season however what i really need to know is that if airlines such as Egypt Air and Saudia are good airlines. Some of my friends said that they have a lot of cancellations and last minute changes.

I have not used those airlines - so cant comment ..check online for their reviews. You could also try Cathay Pacific. Or Emirates (its expensive though) ...Qatar Airlines is good too,
The ones I have mentioned - I have used them and had decent service.

i travelled EgyptAir..but that was 3 yrs back, dont know if the standards are still the same..

food , inflight entertainment..nothing was good..infact the flight was delayed by 3hrs or so

1st thing is ..when u booking a flight, if a transit visa is required it prompts u before confirmation so dont worry abot it n more than half of the flights dont need a transit visa..

i m sure KLM , BA , Emirates , Cathay Pacific , Swiss Air,Lufthansa dont need a transit visa.. my brother once travelled by singapore airlines n the transit time was huge..the airlines itself asked them if they want to take a transit visa n roam out for few hours..

I blocked the dates with Cathay Pacific for the 29th Dec will be making a payment 2moro. It has just 1hr 30mins of layover which is quite nice.... Filing for visa 2moro...If all works well then will see u guys in Canada ;D

I dont agree with this. Airlines have nothing to do with Transit Visa - This will be checked at the transit country. Most airlines/ bookings it does not show up because transit visas for Indians is very recent in the European countries..
If you travel via Dubai (emirates), Singapore, Hong Kong (Cathay), Zurich (Swiss Air) - No transit visa.
If you travel via Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London - you might or might not need one.

Since you are travelling via Hong Kong (as Cathay does) - you will not need one.

lol..the example stated was of Singapore airlines..which like u said, has tourist visa on arrival..wt will the airlines loose by asking the passengers if they wish to roam on a lay over ??

dude..its just a visitor visa for 1 or 2 days..which in many cases is granted in the airport itself..relaxxx..i have travelled enough too

u travel anywhere, u wont need a transit visa,,as long as u r in the transit zone n nt passing across the IO

i m myself planning to take a transit visa, if i m to travel to canada..

guess wt, my father doesnt book my tickets for me..i do it myself, so i shud be having a confirmation of wt i m speaking of..lolol
