Hello everyone. i NEED YOUR KIND RESPONSES TO THIS.

I have a postgraduate work permit in Canada and a new study permit because I just started a PhD program after completing my Master's last May. My current TRV is the one that came with my previous study permit, which I used for my just-concluded Master's program. And the TRV expires in November 30, 2018. Meanwhile, I need to travel for a conference in Australia by the fist week of September and I am just putting in an application to extend my TRV to enable me return to Canada.

The worry I have is that bmy visa application to Australia was refused on the grounds of the fact that my TRV is expiring soon and I will not be able to return to Canada. I want to re-apply for the Australia visitor's visa and I need to present a TRV to them to show that I have a right of return to Canada..

Since, I am just going to send in the application for the TRV, I am afraid it will take longer; can I flagopole to get my TRV extended since I have valid study permit and postgraduate work permit till June 2021. Please, your thoughts are welcome. Thanks

No - you can't flagpole to get a new TRV. TRVs aren't issued at the border. You need to apply for a new one either online or by mail.

Hi I am in the same situation as the OP. Are you sure TRV cannot be obtained at the border?
100% sure. You cannot obtain a new TRV at the border.

I assume you are asking about a new TRV that allows you to travel in and out of Canada vs. a TRV extension. These are two different things and hopefully you understand the difference.
