Flagpolig in 90 days period for new work permit

Good afternoon to all,

Please for help in this situation.

1. I am in 90 days period for restoration. (60 days left)
2. I have positive LMIA + job offer
3. Already applied for visitor record online (30 days ago)
4. Already applied for new work permit online with 200$ fee (10 days ago)
5. I am from visa exempt country.

I need to get work permit ASAP because my employer needs me urgent and processing time is 49 days.

If I'll take those documents and drive to the border, are they would allow me to make a flagpole in this situation or ask me to wait until my status is restored please?

If you already applied online, there are very less chances to get your work permit extension at border crossing. But I will suggest you to give it a try. Don't forget to take all documents with you including document that show you are on impleed status in Canada. All the best

Thanks for reply ram537, I am not in implied status I have 90 days for restoration, my WP expired month ago.
Has anybody similar experience with flagpoling in 90 days period please?

I am in a similar situation. I have a provincial nominee application for PR in the process. I was thinking of doing the flagpole, and give up my restoration status by crossing the border, and then applying or a new work permit as my employer has paid the new compliance fee and filled out a IMM5802 job offer form. Basically it would be reentering canada as a worker.

Did they give you a hard time as because you are under the restoration period? Which POE that you went through. I've read all day and get more nervous and nervous and thinking of backing up my plan to go tomorrow. That helps a lots. Thank you.... I will do the same tomorrow....with my husband and kid.

No, it was very easy without problems. Keep your papers about applying for WP online with you, if you are from visa exempt country you are ok. You can call tomorrow early morning to CIC and aks them for proof about its OK go there in this situation and you got it.

I am not from the visa exempt country. Then i should not do it then. Does not worth risk it though eventhough I have my Nominee paper does not mwan anything if O am not from Visa exempt country. :-(

If you are need visa, dont go to tje border. Sorry, but for sure try call to CIC..

Its very importent if you are from visa exempt country,
this is why you can go flagpole in restoration or not.
