Yeah I was asking about whether inland applicant can do flagpole as well, if yes so its more easier to go to any canada/usa land border to land instead of wait for 2 to 3 months for some local CIC
I wanted to receive the PR status as soon as possible. Getting the status allows more benefits (e.g. access to immigrants programs, and non secured credit cards, TFSA/RRSP, etc). Besides I live close to the boarder. It was very easy process, took me only a couple hours from leaving our home to a little cerebration at my partner's parents' home, and cost me basically nothing. I was on work permit but for me it was so much easier and great feeling that my waiting was finally over!

As Rob said, don't forget B4 form if you intend to import something later.

I applied outland. I had study permit and then got PGWP while I was waiting on my PR application. I applied outland mostly because I wanted to get full status asap.

Hi friends I have a question.

When driving to the border to flagpole, can I bring somebody with me who is not a PR nor has a valid US visa? I'm driving from Halifax this weekend to the New Brunswick/Maine border but I just don't want to drive 5 hours and back all by myself...

That person does not need to have a US visa, but should be able to come back to Canada.

To be safe, you could always just drop your friend off at a coffee shop or something right before the border... go to US side and then Canada to do landing yourself... and then pick up your friends when done.

Some Canada border offices where you do the landing, will allow people to simply enter the office from the Canadian side without going through US (this is something your friend may be able to do... NOT YOU since you MUST go through US first to do proper landing).

Excellent point! I will drop them at a coffee shop then. I didn't know there would be one... For some reason I don't know I pictured the border point to be nothing but woods...

You should check first the details of the NB/Maine border you're crossing at... and make sure they indeed do have stores around there, or if you can access the Canadian border office directly to drop your friend off before going to US border.

We did the landing in Niagara Falls, and there are a ton of stores around there. But i know other border crossings are very isolated so could be more difficult for someone waiting.

You don't need any of that. You ONLY need your COPR form and passport, that's it. You will simply tell the Canadian immigration officer your address you want PR card sent to. They don't care whatsoever about your bank account and wont ask. Oh and you'll need the B4 forms if you intend to import some of your goods separately from home and want to be exempt from duties/customs/taxes etc.

Did you call CIC for all this? I'm surprised they would advise you to "land" by walking into an airport, and that you need proof of bank accounts and address. This is all completely wrong info.

Technically you will be entering the US when you talk to US border guard and they give you paperwork and turn you around. Realistically though you are just heading right back to the Canadian side. IF you require a special visa to enter the US, you can still flagpole as they will just give you an "administrative denied entry" to the US and you will still head back to Canada side to "land".
Do I have to have a permanent resident visa to flagpole? I will have my CoPRs and I have a Canadian Visitors Visa and my US Visa all still valid.
