Unless you have already submitted the application, there is no point in sending more proofs. Relationship proofs should have been part of the application. Any additional proofs after the application been submitted is best hold on to, put away in a special box, for future reference in case you and husband ever get called in for any interview. This is when you bring the additional proofs of your relationship. Bringing the extra proof will give the VO agents view of your genuine of your relationship in your favour since you maintained the relationship while PR is in process.

It is best that you keep the records of your husband visit for any possible future interviews. Best that you wait for CIC to ask for any additional proofs. If you have provided enough proof with the application, you don't need to send more.

Sorry, I don't have any sample or format of letter to provide for you to use for further proofs submits. Are you worried that you didn't provide enough proofs with your application? Honestly, you should not worry, let CIC VO do their job.

By submitting your proofs again, there is no 100% sure that the documents you sent will get attached to your application especially if CIC is not requesting it yet. It may get lost or misplaced as the agent may not know what to do with the documents since they didn't asked for it.

I can't answer for everyone, but I can't answer for my husband with one word. LAZINESS. He knew he didn't owe, he hates paperwork and all things administrative, and (especially living in the US for four years) he simply found his taxes to be a pain in his rump he didn't feel like dealing with in early 2012...and 2013!

This year was probably the first time that his taxes were filed ON TIME. Because I have taken over all "familial administrative duties" with the exception of anything that requires too high a level of French (not much anymore, I even use the phone).

Ha ha. I can understand his point of view. But with online filing and softwares out there (ufile, turbotax, etc), makes filing taxes a breeze. Would definitely hate filing taxes if I have to fill by hand on paper and mailing it in.

How do I request FBI records? I worked for the PD and I had FBI clearances...I *cough* worked with high clearance/confidential stuff...and when I was interviewed and process for the job I it was kinda like a built in thing...they did it all for me...I still remember getting my fingerprints taken for the 3rd time in my life...haha...my "prints" and stuff is in "the system"...

I guess go to my local PD and request there?

Or can you do it online.

requests can't be made online because you have to send them your fingerprints. go here and follow the instructions.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/criminal-history-summary-checks/submitting-a-criminal-history-summary-request-to-the-fbi

there is a form to fill out. you have to mail that along with your fingerprints and a money order/certified check for $18.00. most police stations will do fingerprints for you. there is a fingerprint "card" you can download and bring with you, though it may not fit in the "machine" they use to do your prints. it says processing time is 22 days.

It boggles my mind too! One lady told me she did taxes and her refund was $1 but didn't submit it. Her goal is just to determine whether or not she owes the gov't. I couldn't believe it, as she would have qualified for the quarterly GST/HST credit which can be up to $78. Multiply by 4 and it's $312 which is out of her pocket.

screech339 said:
"Common practice??". The only way I can accept that it is common practice is that if they don't owe any taxes or there is a refund but they haven't bothered to get it back. In other words, you don't "really" have to do your taxes if you don't any additional taxes or refunds. I think it is rather st*pid approach as he/she can qualify for other tax benefits. Some benefits will not be given until taxes are filed such as child benefits.

Honestly, why would someone not file taxes especially if they have a refund. The government is not going to return your refund with interest because you didn't file taxes. But they are happy to charge any interest on any balance owed to the government.

Doing the FBI fingerprint request now...and I have a question

I'm at the place where it says Mail Results to Address

I am guessing to just put my address...since I will be mailing all these papers together with my packet...right. I dont want to send it to the CIC department LOL by itself...

Rather ask a silly question now than panic later that I did something stupidly wrong LOL.

Thank goodness for this forum...22 days to process this alone!

Hi.

I have gotten stuff rolling and 1 thing is bothering me. Do I send in a self addressed envelope with my application to the FBI for print record. This paragraph on their page scares me, I dont want them to destroy my application.

Due to changes in processing, effective October 12, 2013, the FBI will no longer accept return self-addressed stamped envelopes with Departmental Order requests. This includes pre-paid Priority Mail, FedEx account numbers, United Parcel Service, etc., foreign postage coupons, and requests to forward correspondence to the Department of State for the apostille process. Envelopes received postmarked after this date will be destroyed. The FBI will return all results, both foreign and domestic, by U.S. First-Class Mail via the United States Postal Service. Thank you for your patience as we try to streamline our processes to improve our service to you.

So do you supply a envelope or do they?

GAH! Such a silly worry...but I dont want to mess this up, as it will add 30 days to start over...

no, you do not send a self addressed stamped envelop with your fbi record request, only application and payment. they will send it to the address you list in the application.
