First Time traveller to Canada

Hi,

I would be travelling to a foreign country for the first time and I am lucky to say that the country is Canada.
Since this is the first time I am travelling international, i need advice for all the activities to be done once I land in Canada starting from immigration formalities at airport, cost of living in Toronto, tax related issues or any other matter that makes life easier.
Request to respond to my query and also any other useful information that makes my one year stint in Canada successful.
