Hi there!

I would like to present the facts of my case as follows:- I have applied for PR visa under FSW class and got AOR after finally submitting complete application on Sep 22, 2018, prior to which, I appeared for medical exam on Sep 3, 2018. Now, it has been more than 6 months, which is the maximum time taken for application processing, and couple weeks more. On the CIC website, the status of my application is showing "your application is taking us longer than usual to process." I also raised query using the "web form" option, and the reply was that they "can confirm that it is still under process". Now that the application is getting delayed, I have no other option than to wait and wait more until I receive PPR/ COPR. As soon as I get my PPR, I shall submit my passport to local VFS global office for stamping and get it back along with COPR.

Now, I have couple questions- 1. In case I get my COPR quite late, say, in July, will it be necessary that I land on or before 03-Sep, this year, i.e., one year from the date of the medical exam, or will I get a revised deadline? Of course, I need some weeks time to schedule/ plan my first landing and getting it in July will technically leave me with only 1 month (August), which would not suffice. 2. Do I have the option of sending my passport to VFS Global office through courier/ post or will I have to go in person? As it is difficult for me to go personally, can I submit it through an authorized representative on my behalf, who will also carry a consent letter signed by me?

Thanking in advance!

1) Yes, you may only have a few weeks to complete the landing process. If it's really close, IRCC can either ask you to redo the medical examination or it may request that the expiry of the medical examination is extended. This is often country specific, based on the perceived medical risks. You can't request an extension, unless IRCC have made an error or the available time is ridiculously short after the COPR is sent.

Thank you! Thanks a lot... :) Regarding "country specific", I am from India.

That would probably trigger a new medical, rather than an extension.
This is based on the perceived risk level.

Hello ,

May i know when did you finally receive your COPR.
I got PPR on May 29, 2019- a week after completing 8 looonnnnnnnggggg months including couple of months waiting "IN THE DARK" after completion of 6 months- the normal processing time and receiving the same generic responses to queries raised multiple times using the "web form option" (CSE)!!! I submitted my passport for stamping to VFS global on June 5th, 2019 and got it back thru courier on 19th along with COPR in the same envelope

On the visa stamp in my passport, the expiry date mentioned is Sep 7, 2019... PPR May 29, medical examination date was Sep 3, 2018 (expiring on Sep 3 this year 2019) and COPR received on June 19...
