So as you may know I am out of status and applied outland. today I got my first email with my identity number. Is this good feeling nervous but excited also. Don't want to get my hopes up

when you say you got your "first email", do you mean the Acknowledgement of receipt before sponsor approval? or have you already gotten SA and you got a letter from the visa office regarding your (the applicant's) application? The reason i'm asking is because the UCI on the AOR and SA are for the sponsor. This is not the applicant's UCI, as both people receive separate numbers. The only number that is shared between the 2 people is the file number. Generally, the applicant does not receive a UCI number until the visa office sends correspondence to the applicant, and for most people that isn't until PPR.

yes, that is the AOR, which means the UCI is for the SPONSOR, not applicant. As the applicant, you will receive yours when the visa office contacts you about your own application. if you try to use theUCI # on the AOR, you need to use the sponsor's personal information.

your current status isn't relavant to the sponsor's application, so if CIC contacts you about being out of status, it will be after you receive sponsor approval and the applicant's application has been sent to the visa office for processing.
