;) Hello friends. Actually, I received the letter for the test today. However, this test is my first test, they say that if I do not attend at the test, they do not hear any reason for the new chance and they will return $100 within 60 days. I moved to another province in August and then I reported that to CIC.

I recognized that CIC homepage let me know that I am going to have test Nov 21, 2013. This is first notice. Is there somebody know the reason CIC is saying that?

1.We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 10, 2012.

2.We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 10, 2012. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3.We started processing your application on November 5, 2012.

4.We sent you a notice on October 22, 2013 to appear and write the citizenship test on November 21, 2013 at 1:30 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

How about my kids? Gr 5 and Gr 1 kids can wait for us outside the test place?

And I have two children, one is grade 5, the other is grade1. Can they wait for us during the test in outside the test place like sofa?

Most likely there will be a crowd of people taking the test with you and it all takes time, to check everybody's ID, to call in the older people for interviews, to get everybody seated, to explain the test, to start the test etc. so I am not certain that it's a good idea for your kids to be hanging around.

Of course you know your kids better to say what they are capable of. If it drags on for a couple of hours and they get bored, will the older be able to keep the younger in check? Are they likely to wander off or can you trust the older to take the younger for a walk and find their way back?

There is no reason for the children to attend the test because they are not taking it but if you want them to be there, you might want to think taking someone else with you to keep them company while they wait.

Thank you for your comment. Actually, I called CIC in the morning. They said that they do not give second chance to write a test if I do not attend at the first test. If I have something to do at the test day, I should reschedule my the test date before the test. Otherwise, they will consider that I no longer have interest in my citizenship application.

If I have a fair reason missing the test, I have to write a letter for a citizenship judge for that. The judge will make a decision for me.

I strongly would say that do not miss the test if possible. The agent who I talk with said that the law was changed like this!!!

I hope that everybody get successful for citizenship :)

Get someone to look after your kids on the day even if it means having to pay for day care etc.

I agree. If the kids run around and are loud, they might be told to go elsewhere. At ages 1 and 4, where would they go?

He didn't say they are 1 and 4, he said they are in the 1st grade and 5th grade. That means they are something like 6 and 10.
