Fingerprints requested: what is this an indication of?

Dear All,

I applied for citizenship in August under the 4-year physical presence requirement, after having been in Canada for four contiguous years, with no travel outside Canada. Last week, I received a request for fingerprints. What do you think this indicates? Is everyone asked for fingerprints? Is this an indication that my application is headed towards being treated as non-routine?

On the other hand, the woman at the police station where I went for the fingerprints told me that the fingerprint request is the last stage in the processing of the application and is an indication that processing is nearly complete.

What do you all think? Thanks,

Snoopy

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
A name match with someone who is wanted or has been convicted. The results will prove you aren't that person.

The women at the Police station is right. From other forums, people who were asked for finger print usually get their decision in 4 weeks!
