Hi Everyone,

We received the fingerprint request on April 28 and got our fingerprinting done through Commissionaires in BC on May 2. Does anyone have experience like how long does it take to submit the fingerprint results to IRCC. I guess they send to RCMP and then RCMP sends directly to IRCC.

But when I check it online it says they haven't received it yet.

Thank you!!!

I received FP request in March. I am in ON.
It took around 6 weeks or so from the time I summited the FP(12 Mar) to be marked as completed (24 Apr)
Usually the process would be around 3-6 weeks on an avg for most applications which require FPs

Yep I'd agree it takes about 3-6 weeks, however send the agency an email who you did your fingerprints at.....then send it to RCMP asking them and then also an online web form enquiry to IRCC

Do I have to let IRCC know that I have had my fingerprints taken, or is it automated? My concern is, they say if I don't have my fingerprints taken within a month, they may cancel my application. The guy at the fingerprint place said the one month timeline is to have fingerprint taken, not the submission by RCMP

Its automated, the FP agency which takes your FP, sends the notification to RCMP and IRCC. You don't need to inform IRCC

Just confirming if anyone knows if this is the case.

I had my finger prints done two weeks ago and tomorrow is the 30 day limit that the IRCC letter stated, but I don't know if they've received them. Should I sent a webform to IRCC?

In my case, the status was updated to "Completed" three weeks after I submitted my fingerprint.

Just took mine at the Commisionaries in Ontario.
The person said the RCMP will receive my FP today but it will need to be processed. Next week I could call the RCMP and inquire if they have processed my FP. Hopefully this is done before the holidays.

What I could do today, the person said that I could give CiC a call and update them on the status and give them the DCN number, but I guess CiC call center is swamped right now (keep getting booted). Add I don't see any place to submit DCN online on the citizens application web site.

I guess the above are all optional but I do like to keep track of this as the deadline is only 30 days...

The 30 day limit from receiving my FP letter was Tuesday, Dec 6. I called RCMP and they said that they mailed out my info to IRCC on Nov 29, and that it can take up to 10 business days.

I asked the RCMP person if I should contact IRCC as I was worried about them canceling my application if the fingerprints get there late. The RCMP person laughed and said "If they canceled your application they'd have to cancel thousands of applications."

So I'm not going to worry about it. If it's not update by mid-January, I'll call IRCC.

Hi guys have a quick question. Does everyone send your FP from RCMP to IRCC Vancouver 200-877 Expo Blvd? I have heard that all the FP request are sent out from IRCC Vancouver Office which is not your local processing office.

I got FP marked as received 7 months ago. No updates from IRCC. only got Citizenship Test done 6 months ago. AOR in November 2021.

If I am not mistaken I thought calling ircc won’t help. They only can read what’s on your file. They cant add any notes. Let me know if you are able to get hold of them and they are able to add your request.

Did you send IRCC any information?
