What approximate percentage of applicants get fingerprints request from CIC? Is it about 50% or more? For how long it could delay the application? Who actually needs fingerprints? Are they processed by RCMP to compete checks or are they needed by CIC in the first place?

Don't know the %, but I do know that getting FP request doesn't generally delay your application unless you take your sweet time to provide them.

I believe these are needed if IRCC finds your name has any resemblance to someone holding a record in their database among other reasons.

Some people(applicants) receive results from RCMP and then forward them to CIC. Does it mean that CIC needs only the results or do they also need a copy of paper or digital fingerprints scans?

It is normal to get a request to give your fingure prints, especilay if you are applying as single (based on my expierence with many friends)

You don’t have to worry about sending anything to CIC. The place you are giving your finger prints at, will send resaults directly.

I would say this is usually add about 2 weeks to your processing time, but it is normal, so do not worry.
