Does anyone know where to get a fingerprint check done in El Salvador?

Thanks.
Jess

Thanks but that's for Honduras and he got his police check done, they just sent a request that he get his fingerprints. He went to a few different police stations today and each told them they didn't do it. I'm just trying to find where he needs to go otherwise he'll just have to keep looking Monday I guess. He's in San Salvador.

Oh dear..my bad, reading too fast!

His fingerprints...has he checked if there is a Criminal Records Division of the police there? They should be the ones in charge of taking fingerprints for police records, maybe they can help direct him?

How about private security companies, some of those are licensed to perform such tasks, although I can't speak from knowledge of El Salvador, I'm just throwing some thoughts out there. If companies like those are there, they may have to do fingerprints to do background checks, that sort of thing.

No he hasn't done much checking yet, he just received it by courier today and was hoping to get it done so he could send it in with his passport but unfortunately he couldn't find where to go. I will pass along the ideas!! thanks a bunch :)

Since he already has his certificates, he can try calling back the Policia Nacional Civil Central office in San Salvador. Someone there has got to know something about getting fingerprints done, since they are the ones who issue police certificates.

Good luck, I hope he gets an answer soon!

CharlieD is right. The Policia Nacional Civil is the one authority that takes fingerprints for security records. It's the same authority that handles the Police clearance of course. But I wonder, didn't your husband already provided his police clearance records?

Here in costa rica the main police which is (OIJ) they are the ones in charge of making fingerprints, so am guessing the main police in el salvador have to provide that, usually the main office is always in the countries capital as well you can try emailing the vo and asking them where to get it done, good luck :)

I found this as well maybe you can try calling one of the offices and ask where to get it done

Thanks everyone.

Yes he already has sent in his police certificate. They requested he pay his right of permanent residence fee, send in his passport along with getting his fingerprints done.

jd, are you sure they're asking for fingerprints? I'm a bit surprised that the fingerprints are part of the application... it's the first time i see that.

Could it be that they are asking for police clearance which for El Salvador includes getting fingerprints and checking against a database?

i'm perplexed and curious to find out if this is a standard request for applicants of El Salvador.

In march when my hubby got passport request they asked for the criminal record from costa rica, passport, right of permenant residency fee, ARC fee and fingerprints which is for rcmp, but before we left from canada he had done them in canada so my lawyer sent it to them so am guessing the fingerprint request is from canada but guatamala just sends the form so u can get it done it in your home country, I believe this is what jd is talking about ?

I believe Alex is right and it is part of the RCMP check. Guatemala sent a form to get them done in El Salvador...

jd exactly here in costa rica its the same process but since my husband got them done in canada, he left it with our lawyer and she sent it them when the vo requested it, but here u go to the main police which is in the capital only and there the ones required to do that, so my guess is that the main police station has to be in san salvador and they have to do it and if not your hubby can ask them where to get it done :) I really hope you can find out so you can get those things done asap Good luck
