Hello.
I came to Canada in 1990 and became a naturalized citizen in 1996.
I am sponsoring for a spouse and the form IMM1344 requires I provide the UCI / Client ID of when I came to Canada.
However, as I was a child at the time, I do not have any of the old information.
The Visa printout stapled to my passport when I landed in Canada does not show the UCI.

How can I find this number?

Where can I find my client ID/UCI?

This eight digit number appears on all documents you get from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). It looks like this: 0000-0000.

▼ If you applied to CIC before

Look for this number on:
•letters you received from CIC,
•your immigration document such as a PR card, study or work permit.

If you do not have any of these documents but want to fill out an application form:
•you can leave the field for UCI (Client ID) blank.

Note: If you have not dealt with CIC since 1973, you will not have a UCI or a Client ID.

▼ If you are applying to CIC for the first time

You will not yet have a client ID. If so, and you are filling out a form that asks for one, write “Not Applicable” or “N/A” in the space provided.

If you are applying online and the form does not allow you to input “N/A,” leave the space blank.

Thank you all.
Very helpful answers.
I only have the landed papers stapled to my passport and it does not have an UCI number nor any 0000-0000 format number.
My citizenship papers (certificate and card) do not have it neither.

I guess I should leave it in blank.

Thank you again. Very helpful.

That will be okay. Just curious, did you not get PR Card after landing and before getting Citizenship?

No. PR cards were not instituted yet.
I landed in 1990, became CC in 1996.

Thx.. You keep on saving me again and again lol...

While I don't think its necessary, we wrote a note to the application stating that the sponsor didn't know his UCI and that his mother didn't have a record of it either. CIC must get a lot of people in this situation. Old citizenship cards don't have the number on them and most parents would trash documents that are twenty or more years old and not needed any more.

They will match your personal details with information in their system and you will know what your UCI is when CIC send you any letters. Leaving it blank is not an issue at all.

Hi,
I've got a TR Visa once last year and I'm intend to apply for Study Permit this year.
Please could you tell where can find my UCI on my visa?, or I don't have one?
Thank you, Regards.
