Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hey fellows,

I'm software developer and have over one year of experience in the IT field. My strengths are my personality and diverse skills in my field. I live in Finland, currently searching for Junior position in software development. I have found few positions but I have few questions:

1. Is it difficult to find a job in Canada while I live outside of Canada?
2. I have been searching for good type of resume to send for employers. I have found that there are functional and chronological resumes and hybrid. Which type is best to use in when searching a job in IT field?
3. Is it true that functional resumes are dead? I have seen in several Canadian websites indicating that.
4. Would it be better to move to Canada first and then search for a job or vice versa?

Any help is really appreciated. I'm planning to immigrate to Canada as soon as I get a job.

Yes it's very hard to get a job from outside Canada. Many employers don't even bother reading applications from overseas, unless it's a post requiring specialised skills that are hard to find.

Lots of useful information & links about Canadian style resumes here:

Do you already have a PR visa?

Thank you Lammawitch,

Unfortunately I don't have PR visa, not even applied because I was thinking first to get working visa and in order to get that you have to find a job in Canada.

So it seems that the only way I can get a job from Canada is to come to Canada and seek there?

An employer would have to get an LMIA in order for you to get a work permit. It's not an easy process, and costs 1000$. The employer also has to prove that there are no Canadians or PRs available to do the job.

It seems that immigration to Canada is very difficult. Even if person want to start new life in Canada and work. Need to reconsider immigrating to Canada if this is the case.
