Hey folks,

I have a bachelor's degree in hotel management from India. And currently running my own catering business here.

I am planning to settle in Canada via PR with my family (wife and a kid), will be putting up my papers next month.

A) How easy and difficult is to find a job in hospitality/catering/restaurant (not survial)

B) what is the average salary for survival and regular job (hospitality) as well.

C) which states or cities are good to settle in for this sector.

Sorry I have joined the forum, could not find old threads regarding the same.
Thanks in advance.

I guess that you can start with a Google search ‘Canada hospitality jobs’ to see what the market is generally like. Just that search returns many links.

Be wary though of anyone offering you a hospitality job from outside Canada as generally those tend to be scams of one sort of another. Not always but very rare for any employer to take on anybody not in the country for any job.

HI All!!
I need some help; I am considering to apply for Canada PR.
Currently, I am working in Hospitality (Restaurant /Catering) field as a Manager / Chef in the USA on H1B visa. I am an Indian Citizen, I have 20 years of experience in the same area, and I have 60k USD with me. One of my friends have Canadian PR he is working in the same field in Ontario; he is ready to start a small business with me around there. Also, I know few more people in Canada as a friend (no relative).
What is the best and proper way to apply for Canada PR in my situation?
Your advice will be appreciated
Thanks a lot In Advance

A) depends how good you are, competition is fierce, networking essential.
B) minimum wage is $11.15 in BC. Too much to die, not enough to live of. And it goes up from there..
C) Never, never, never call our provinces and territories "States", only in the US there are states.
But hospitality is big in BC, Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler. Do not know about the east coast
