I am an internal auditor, currently working for one of the biggest telecom operators in the Middle East; I have a valid PR, long experience in IT systems implementation, and information system auditing, in addition, I have CIA, CISA, CISM, PMP, PRINCE2 certificates.

Can anybody please give me an advice on the possibility of having a job as an internal auditor in Canada??

Hi everyone.. Just wondering, I believe that if an employer in Canada intends to directly hire me from here in Qatar, the employer would have to apply for LMO in Service Canada by first advertising it in the jobbank for 14 days, right? That is to prove that no Canadian Citizens or PR are interested on the job that needs to be given priority over Temporary Foreign Workers.

My question is: There could be a lot of Canadian Citizens and PRs who qualify for Registered Nurse position in Canada, could that mean that I have a slim chance on having an approved LMO?

Did someone encounter this? a TFW who got an LMO for nursing position? I hope there are... That could somehow give me hope in pursuing. God bless us all...Thank you in advance for all your responses...

According to immigration, there is a shortage of nurses in Canada so even if there are a lot of qualified nurses in Canada, they might all have jobs and in that case, maybe nobody will apply. Even if somebody does apply, they might have less experience or somehow be less qualified than you are.

Thanks Leon, that’s good thing to learn. But one more thing Sir, I am from the Philippines but presently working full time here in Qatar. I have been checking jobs at Canada jobbank but all jobs require credentials particularly the “Licensure as Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work” which I do not have yet because I am outside Canada.. Does that mean that those applying inside Canada could have better chances of qualifying? Because much as I would like to take the licensure exam of a specific province, I would not be able to do so until I get there. Sorry for these negative thoughts, I just want to get insights. Your comments are of help... Thank you very much.

You can find some information about licensing for nurses here: http://www.cicic.ca/403/occupational-profiles-for-selected-trades-and-professions.canada?crit=1&sprofession=nurse&sRegulated=&sSkillLevel= They will also have links to nurses associations. I suggest you contact some of them and ask.

Though my daily life is extremely monotonous, I try hard to adapt myself to it. Why? Because I intend to be a good student. I wish to render service to my country.

I get up at six o’clock every day. After I wash my face and brush my teeth, I begin to review my lessons. I go to school at seven o’clock.

After school is over, I return home. We usually have supper at seven o’clock.

Then I begin to do my homework. I want to finish it before I go to bed.

Hi Leon thanks for the link. :)

If I may ask, are International Applicants for Registered Nurse being referred on the link those Temporary Foreign Workers who are already in Canada? How about in my case wherein I am presently working here in a Hospital in Doha, Qatar (But I am a Filipino)

I hope there could be sites where we could apply from here abroad... I really am serious of working in Canada and be part of its good community who also has a great number of fellow Filipinos..

Thank you and God bless

Hi,

I have just been granted PR.
Is it a good idea to start applying jobs from my home country? Will employers take notice of you or is it a must that we first have Canadian address and/or contact number.

Thanks.

You can start applying but it is unlikely that you will be offered a job right away. You could set up interviews though.
