Financial support for seniors

Hi! Im wondering if sponsored senior family members will receive any financial support from federal or provincial government. If yes, where should I apply? My mom is 78. Thanks!

You are financially responsibly for parents for 20 years after you sponsor them for PR. The rules are slightly different in Quebec. You will also have to pay bed costs if the person ends up in longterm care or hospital waiting for longterm care but able to be discharged. That is around $1000/month. Sponsoring a parent can be a large financial commitment which is not explained in enough detail.
