Hey folks,

So exactly 2 months after landing I have a junior manager level job in public company, my pr card and my housing sorted along with everything else. In total, my process took 1 year 4 months or perhaps 2 years 3 months as i got rejected for pr first time.

I decided to move to Toronto - Expensive!! I had savings of around 20k..and believe me you need a job within 2-3 months or youll be broke by 6th month.

For jobs, I started applying 1 month in advance from landing. Must have done at least 20-30 phone interviews till I landed 1 F2F after landing and got the offer, there are a lot of jobs!! I didnt do any extra specializations, certifications or nonsense as that guy Qorax posted if you are like me - Engineer, Masters and no canada education or experience, 1-2 yrs work experience abroad in middle east. I just leveraged LinkedIn to the best of my ability and I was astounded by the amount of companies hiring.

Housing can be a real concern, luckily I have a sibling to help with credit scores and references and the rental market is out of control and I am coming from dubai...

PR Card was the easiest and quickest to obtain..very impressed with CIC on maintaining that delivery timeline.

Anyways, just wanted to thank this subforum for helping me achieve this, it means a lot. Information here is really invaluable and I will contribute every now and then.

Could you please shed more light on how you did this? 'I just leveraged LinkedIn to the best of my ability and I was astounded by the amount of companies hiring' ?

Before going to Canada, change your location on LinkedIn to your desired city so LinkedIn will show you people in your field based on your current location who you can connect with. LinkedIn offers free trials of premium service. if you dont want to pay, use the premium service during your Canadian job search to access people in an organisation who have restricted access. use keywords on linkedin so that employers can search for you

Simple I went to jobs and filtered it down to my specialization..any moment there are 10k vacancies in toronto with around 100-500 applicants on average. I applied to around 300 in 1 month I am estimating, probably spoke with around 20-30 before and after landing and only got 1 F2F which got me the job (luck and good fit).
In toronto there does seem to be a big lack in human resources to fill technical sales and account management roles!

Hi, curious how did you get PR without any Canadian work experience ? Did you study here ? Thanks
If you have good Ielts score, 3+ foreign experience and bachelor / master experience, you could get pr easily too.

Federal skilled workers don't need Canadian education or experience to get permanent residence
