Finally received a response

Hello there,

I filed my PR in March 2014 and finally received a response from CIC last week. I have notified that I have quit my full-time job and moved on to a new company last year in July I think. I've actually started a company with my brother last year and have been on payroll since then. Now, CEC is asking for a job reference letter from the current employer. But the problem I'm having is that since I'm a partner in the incorporation how can I make a reference letter to myself? I've all the necessary documents for my qualifying experience which is the Dec 2012 to Jan 2014(I have pay stubs, T4, NOA etc.).

How should I respond to CIC on this? Should I just say that I'm self-employed but I'm on salary? I have my T4 for last year and NOA from CRA(obviously without EI paid for the work period done for my own company to CRA since I was self-employed).

Looking forward to hear back from you.

Thanks!

Did you apply under CEC class, FSW or what? It would be extremely odd for CIC to ask for a letter for your current employer, if you applied under CEC class...
