Hello! Everyone,

Hope u guys doing gr8. Here's my Landing experience: -

I took the British Airways flight from Mumbai (India) to Toronto (Pearson Airport)on the 13th Oct. Had few Bollywood Celebs & my own Company's CEO on the flight never had a chance to speak to her whilst i was working for the Company though. Took courage to speak to her she said they are coming up with a new Project in Toronto so lets see if my Profile matches with their requirement. Nyways, the flight was on time had few baggage issues at Mumbai as our baggage was bit overweight but got it resolved. The food was alright the attendants were quite friendly. I must say they have a good leg room even in Economy clas. Later we reached the London (Heathrow) Airport, had a stop over of 4hrs, both me & my wife were extremelly emotional as we were missing our Family friends everybody so much were just quiet throughout the flight. There was some BA strike that day hence our flight was delayed for half an hour but it did reach Toronto on time on a great sunny day.

We were welcomed by the Canadian Authorities, later the Immigration guy just took our Passports & Landing Paper asked how much cash we are carrying didn't ask us to show & where we'll be staying so we gave our Friends address also he said PR card will come in 45 days. Later we got the New Comers set from other counter & finally we came out to collect our Baggage, there are $2 trollys available to take your baggae but there are people standing there demanding $14 and nobodys ready to give change of $2 as we needed $4. Somehow from somewhere after spending 1/2nhr i got change and got the trolly and got my bags.

Later at the last Customs counter we were only asked if we are going to ship any items and if are carrying any food items (Cooked) from our Country for which we denied & hence the lady didnt even bother to check the bag list or anything else and asked us to go.

So the whole process was just 1/2nhr we were quite lucky enough that nobody questioned us anything although we were prepared & organized everything they required.

My friends were standing outside to receive me and were quite surprised to see me coming out so soon.

So this was my Landing story i did open a Bank A/c in Scotia Bank today got the SIN number the card will come later. Licence will be doing later. Right now enjoying the weather here in Mississuaga. Will search for jobs eventually.

Thanks & All the best Guys

Regards

Thanks for sharing with us. You better had taken two coin dollars for the trolley. When it comes to these kinda situations in Canada, you wouldn't find any help from anyone. People are much different there than in the subcontinent.

Which NOC you are? where do you wanna search for jobs? Missisauga is a nice place to live.
You were asked if you got any type of food, either cooked or fruits or anything. Canadian law doesnt permit any food to go inside by the passengers. I don know the reason for this weird rule.

Good luck, keep sharin

Hi Swaps82,

Can you pls tell whether BA allowed you 23kgs x 2 bags per person?

Satish

it is true that he should have tried to get change from back home from a money exchange service, but it is not true that people don't help there it is quote the opposite in 2007 I went on a tourist visit to Toronto and a lady gave me change for the trolleys, she didn't have to, I didn't even ask her she offered. there are friendly people everywhere mixed with the non friendly ones. you just have to look for them.
