Feb 4th 2013.....Finally!!!!!
Hi everyone... we have finally received notice to attend our landing interview!!! We are beyond excited, and of course, nervous because we have been in this immigration process for a few years now.

We would love if we could get a couple different insights on what to expect during the landing interview. Anything to be nervous about at all? They said they require my sponsor(wife) to attend incase they have to question her.... is that just standard protocol?

Thanks for reading and any responses! We go on Monday!!

Don't worry... this is not a real "interview". Your PR process is approved and the interview is NOT meant to somehow take it away!

The only things they will ask is if anything in your situation has changed during the application (i.e. had a kid or something that wasn't declared), they will confirm permanent address in Canada to send PR card to, ask about any goods you want to bring to Canada from home country, and go over some of the PR rules, how to apply for SIN/Health etc etc.

Congratulations. The interview is a formality and there is nothing unusual about their request. There is nothing to be nervous about, this decision has already been made. They want to see the two of you together and some IO's ask general questions about whether or not you have left the country at any time or about changes to your living arrangements, address etc. In my previous sponsorship they just congratulated my husband and stamped his passport. We were there for all of ten minutes.

Can I ask you did they ever tell you why they transferred your file and did they tell you in your interview whether you got AIP and how long it took you to get your AIP letter.

Thanks.
