- June 24,2014 To God be the glory! PR CARD received: August 22, 2014 (exactly 60 days after landing)! Son's PR card arrived August 27, 2014 (exactly 65 days after landing)
This morning me and my son landed as PERMANENT RESIDENTS of Canada.
The landing appointment was in CIC-Edmonton office at 9 am. We were there about 8:30 am. And there were people already when we arrived. We went to the guard and showed the landing appointment letter but she said to just sit down on the vacant seats and wait.
About 8:45 am , we were asked to line up and the guard opened the door going to the glass windows where you can pay the RPRF (if you haven't paid it yet) . They will check if the PR pictures are correct. So unfortunately, me and my son's pictures were not the right size. So we went to the main floor to have our pictures done. That consumed about 10 minutes but that's alright!
Went back to the 2nd floor again and sat on the vacant seats. After like 10 minutes of waiting , my name was called.
Me, my husband (the sponsor) and my son went inside the room. The lady immigration officer checked our passports. Then asked for my husband's license.
Then she also checked if my RPRF fee is already in their system. And ofcourse it' was as I paid it last March.
Then she asked me :
1. Have you ever been charged/ convicted of a crime or offense? I answered NO
2. Have you ever been refused admission to Canada ? I answered NO
3. Have you ever been required to leave Canada? I answered NO
4. Asked if I have dependents outside Canada, aside from my son . I said NO
she printed the COPR and I put my initials right beside the NO answer
Then signed at the bottom of the Copr and dated it.
Then the lady officer signed it too.
Then she said : CONGRATULATIONS! You are now a permanent resident of Canada!
Music to my ears!!!
Then it was my son's turn.
Same thing!
And it's DONE!
PR card will be sent in 6-8 weeks. I hope that's true so I can plan for my trip going to the Philippines
Yey!!!!
