Hello everyone,

Let me start by saying that everyone is doing a good job contributing ideas, advices and thoughts on this forum. This is probably the best forum i have come across in terms of participation/interaction.

I am currently putting together my citizenship application and would like to get some clarification for these items below.

1). Do I need to submit any "Proof of Employment" (past and present) together with my application? I did not see this requirement in the checklist but I am not sure how much of documentation to submit to support my application.

2). When filling out "Addresses" and "Employment" history, should I account for the time I went away for vacations? Or would the Residence Calculator/Absences account for it?

3). As far as absences are concerned, do you recommend submitting the report provided by the border agents? and if so, how is that obtained/ordered?

4). For proof of language, do I need to submit any proof of language proficiency exam (not taken one yet) or should my Canadian University Transcripts be sufficient? I graduated in 2009.

5). Do you recommend my submitting copies of all my stamped passport pages (both old and new passport)? I did not see this requirement in the checklist but I am not sure how much of documentation to submit to support my application.

please write your answers below each numbers.

Thank you in advance :)

4. Test is not necessary if you completed your schooling (high school or college or university) in English or French: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/language.asp
Send a copy of the diploma or transcript (personally I would send both). It must show that you graduated.

I did my IELTS in June, 2010. Is it still valid to send now with my application ?

Check the "Acceptable language proof wizard" as linked in previous post and then let us know.

1) Yes, its mentioned in the text although missing from document checklist. This was confirmed to me by CIC agent. I was told to send at least one proof of employment (eg T4/payslip) for each calendar year (I had the same job throughout the whole 4 year period)

Yes, my friend used her IELTS copy (she used when she applied for PR on 2008)
I should have used mine but I lost my copy.

from the other thread I read that the application form now is new, so follow what's in the new form

I just looked at the application form online and 6F is still saying "if you answered yes, you must provide photocopies of your work and/or your education records"

^yes, so you should attach proof of employment.

When I applied last year I didn't attach, they didn't even ask me to submit, anyway, maybe they added that
because of fraudulent acts in the past. I will just bring all my proof of employment in the interview.

just taking advantage to clarify one issue that I have .
I'm also going to fill my application soon and wondering how to list the time that I lived with my addresses.
to put simple.
1. How do you list the dates?
for example do you start with the current one and go to the previous three years.
like 2013.06.20 to present
2011.06.20 to 2013.06.20
is this method correct?
thanks in advance guys for your kind response(s).

^yup, as long as there are no gaps

3 Follow up questions:

1) Collecting all the documents now. Can someone please clarify what a "Record of landing (IMM 1000)" is? I have my COPR but not sure if i have the Record of landing (IMM 1000)?

2) I am submitting my transcript as proof of language (graduated from a Canadian University) along with a copy of my degree/diploma. Does the transcript need to be in a sealed envelope?

3) Do I need to certify/notrize any of my document photocopies?

Please advice,

Thanks

1) Found this by Googling (sorry I can't post links):

The record of landing is a historical document that contains details about you that were relevant at the time you became a permanent resident of Canada, such as name, sex and date of birth. Before 2003 this document was called the IMM 1000 'Record of Landing'. From 2003 and onwards this document is now called the IMM 5292 'Confirmation of Permanent Residence'.

According to the Instruction Guide,

Record of Landing (IMM 1000), or
Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688) and
Permanent Resident Card (PRC) if you have one

Notice it says Record of Landing or COPR.

2) Not sure about this one but I did not send my transcripts in a sealed envelope.

3) The Instruction Guide and checklist do not mention that the photocopies have to be certified/notarized.
