Final Stage of Processing E-mail Request

What the heck CIC??

We got our DM last Saturday in ECAS and this Saturday, a week later we got the following email:

"Your application is in the final stage of processing. In order to issue Permanent Residence visas, you are asked to complete and return Appendix ‘B'(attached) and the following instructions as indicated for yourself and each family member included on your application:

Ø Submit a photocopy/PDF Scan of ALL pages of your current, valid passport(s) (these copies do not need to be notarized/certified). Each individual must hold their own passport (including children); Diplomatic/Official passports are not acceptable.

Ø If you have changed your passport, then submit a photocopy or PDF Scan of ALL pages of your current, valid passport (these copies do not need to be notarized/certified). Each individual must hold their own passport (including children); Diplomatic/Official passports are not acceptable. Otherwise confirm in writing (email) this is still your current passport for travel

Ø Submit identification photographs to meet the enclosed Photograph Specifications

YOUR PERMANENT RESIDENT VISA WILL BE VALID FOR TRAVEL UNTIL: *05/06/2015 *MM/DD/YY

(1) There was NO attachment of Appendix B - does anyone know what this might be?
(2) Why do they need a photocopy of our passport - AGAIN
(3) Why ID photos - AGAIN
(4) Our PR visa will be valid for travel - 2 months ago?? This one really worries me!
(5) There was no 'enclosed photo specifications'

Anyone else have any similar experience or advice with this kind of e-mail. I've already e-mailed them back saying I'm missing the attachment, but afraid it's going to go into the black hole of CIC email-land. We were pretty excited getting DM last week and now this. Going to contact them on Monday, try the call center...

Which VO is processing your application?

Send an urgent CSE to your VO and ask them what is going on.

Also, if you can reply to the email, do that and mark the subject URGENT.

Did you check the genuinity of received email? If its a legitimate email then submit a case specific enquiry to your VO.

Not sure if this helps, but our consultant told me the other day that often once a DM has been reached they do ask for new photos, likely because they lost the last ones sent according to the consultant and they ask for all pages of your passports in case new ones have been issued. The passports and your PR Cards are linked in the system is the reason for asking for them again. I am waiting on our DM which should be soon I think since they asked for proof we live together here in Canada and we are told that means we are getting quite close, but I asked the consultant what would come next and how long it might take.

Did you check the genuinity of received email? If its a legitimate email then submit a case specific enquiry to your VO.

Yes, a billion times because it really doesn't sound legit. Thanks, yes I've sent one along.. hopefully it doesn't take too long for someone to get back to us. It is such a frustrating process from start to finish!

Thanks CMLR, yes.. I'm thinking they've lost our photos or need to confirm our details are the same..guess we'll wait again and see the outcome..
