Hello,

I have completed filling the Citizenship Application Form and I have the following documents in my package:

Filled Citizenship Application Form
Physical presence calculator Printout
Photocopies of the biographical page of my Passport
My IELTS copy
My Driving License copy
My two Photos
and the Application Fees

Is it okay to send the copies my PR Card and COPR with the application, though these documents are not in the Document Check list?

Thanks

A copy of your driving license can not be considered personal identification if it does not have your birth date. You need to include a copy of your PR card as personal identification.

Its highly reccomended to send PR copy & Driver Licence copy as it has all info they need to avoid delays.

i have sent PR Card, Drivers Licencse front & back copy and even landed document copy and also protected status document copy to avoid delays because i dont have passport for biographical pages.

And drivers licence doesnt proof
A copy of your driving license can not be considered personal identification if it does not have your birth date. You need to include a copy of your PR card as personal identification.
And drivers license doesnt proof his status in Canada, many people with expired immigration status hold provincial drivers as example California, you can come to ontario and day 2 pass g1 test drivers that expires 5 yr with temprorary visa and still hold as id.

its not wise or common sense to apply for citizenship without PR Card in Canada and risk application returned.

The guy that posted said : "My Driving License copy". Where did you see something that indicates that he doesn't have his birth date on it?
Unless you think all Drivers licenses do not include them?(which is wrong)

Sorry, when you say "not wise", what are you basing it on?
They specifically removed the requirement of sending PR card and COPR (updated checklist 10-2017) so deciding that it is "not wise" makes no sense to me especially because you send them your UCI and they can pull out everything government related about you .
Its like sending your bank a scan of your visa and bank card with recent statements when applying for a loan...

So what should I do? I have decided to attach my PR Card copy and COPR copy. Do they send back my Application because of sending the documents which is not in the Checklist?

Thanks

You are asking a question that no one here can answer you with a 100% certainty.
Did they ask for it? no. if they asked for it and you didn't give to them then yes its a problem. If they didn't ask for it(which they didn't) and you don't send it,there is no problem. If they didn't ask for it and you did send it,logically it can go into two different paths:
1. officer doesn't care about it and moves on with the process.
2. It makes him angry after having a bad day and he decides to send it back or put it a side for a week or 2.
50/50 :)
However, due to the fact that they did ask it on the first check list (08-2017) and removed it from the new one (10-2017)
I'll assume that they will be fine with that as they know that not many people clear their cache often.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Well I am sending those documents and at the bottom line my Application may delay for 2 weeks or 1 month and that's ok. I got my PR Visa stamped after 2 years of sending my application :)

They won't return your application because you included your CoPR or your PR card. But you do not need those documents at all. Why are people fearmongering here that IRCC will not accept an application despite the application including all documents according to the checklist?

You can use your PR card as the ID document. But if you use, for example, your drivers licence and health card instead, you do not need to submit the PR card. It says so nowhere on the document checklist.

This is wrong advice. The ID documents don't serve as purpose to prove status in Canada. They simply serve as purpose to prove someones identity. Obviously no one in this world needs to prove to IRCC that they have status in Canada. IRCC is the very authority that issues documents that show proof of status in Canada.

What's next? Do you want to send your birth certificate to the vital statistics office as proof of birth? Or the transcript of your university studies to the university that issued that transcript to prove you went to their university? :)

Again, feel free to include any documents you want, but please don't make people in this forum nervous by inventing requirements that don't exist.

A copy of your driving license can not be considered personal identification if it does not have your birth date. You need to include a copy of your PR card as personal identification.
Basically every drivers licence has a date of birth.

They will not return your application because of that. But I still don't understand why you want want to send your CoPR. It is of no use to them.

Frankly...just follow the instructions to the dot. I would not include stuff that you have not been asked for...it raises the question whether you can actually read instructions
