Final questions before sending out app

Hey everyone,

I just had a few final questions (hopefully!) before sending out the PR application.

1. I paid for the PR application online, and the receipt has a blank space for 'Client date of birth' and 'Client ID'. I'm assuming the date of birth is my own (sponsor) because I paid for the application. I am unsure about the 'Client ID' though, as we haven't submitted anything yet. Any idea where I can find this Client ID?

2. We are filling out the backgroud/history (IMM 5669) for my wife, and there is some info that seems to be unattainable. Specifically, the birthdate/place of her father (he left their family when she was young and they've never heard from him since) and also some of the addresses from when she went to school in Japan. Is it sufficient to leave these blank and then include a letter of explanation? Any advice/input would be most appreciated!

3. The last question is about mailing address on IMM 0008. My wife is living with me in Canada right now (her visitor visa is good until March 2016), and we will be applying Outland. Does it matter if we put our Canadian address as her mailing address? We can provide a US mailing address if needed (she is a US citizen), but not sure if it's necessary? We were uncertain whether applying Outland would make this an issue. I don't think so.. but thought I would put it before the collective wisdom of you all :)

Thanks so much. You guys are amazing!! I don't know how we would have navigated all of this without the thoughtful and kind replies of all of you here. The advice/input and wisdom takes so much of the stress off of this huge undertaking. THANKS!! ;D

Grace and peace~

1) The client is always the applicant, not the sponsor. Some people have client ID's already because they applied for visas or have had visitor records, etc. No worries if you don't have it, leave it blank.

2) Yes, a sentence or so of explanation would be fine.

3) Put the address of where you want correspondence/COPR sent to.

You need to write the name of the person paying the fees on to the blank receipt form (even if it's not you or your spouse. In our case we wrote my mum's details on there because she paid our fees).

The client DOB is that of the Principal Applicant (person being sponsored)

Leave the client ID blank.

Make sure you keep an extra copy - just in case

I put the receipt in my application package without writing anything on it! I totally spaced it. Not that I'd recommend doing it, but it didn't cause any problems.

1. People have put the sponsor's details, the applicant's details, the details of whoever paid for it (mom, friend, grandfather etc.) or, as above, left it blank. It doesn't really matter, as long as CIC can see that it has been paid.

2. Never leave a required space blank; put "See additional sheet" or something like that.

3. It's totally fine to use her Canadian address for the outland app.

When I said yes to question 1 I meant it is ok to explain that question with a few sentences. Like Canuck says though, never leave a question blank as the officer might think the app is incomplete.
