Final Question before Submitting Application

Hi All,

One final question for those in the know. Is it acceptable to send my completed outland sponsorship application, then forward my police check results in 2-3 weeks (when it arrives from overseas)? The police check is currently being processed, so everything is on hold. This is making me really nervous - I'm anxious to get the application moving.

Has anybody done it this way? Are they likely to put my application on hold, or will they go ahead & begin assessing the eligibility of my sponsor?

Yes, it's fine. Just add a cover letter explaining why you haven't included it. We only recently sent the FBI clearance letter since it took over two months to get it. We just added a cover letter with it and Mississauga still approved the sponsorship and forwarded the file to Buffalo. Buffalo is the office that will request at a later date if they haven't received it by the time they start processing your application. You should not send the police certificate until you get the file/application number from CIC. Once Mississauga contacts you to let you know the sponsorship has been approved and transferred to your visa office, send the police certificate, along with a cover letter and include all the reference numbers that are stated in the letter from Mississauga.

..and great, thanks for the info, it's good to know that your sponsor was still approved. I'll include a cover letter as you suggested & get this posted out this week!
