Hello all. I am the sponsor and my spouse lives outside Canada (Outland Application). We applied early August (Full timeline at the bottom of the post), got our AOR early September, and then received Biometrics and all the usual stuff in October.

Today, I see this update on GCKey

Latest update:
Final decision - November 13, 2024:Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

On GCKey, Eligibility and Background are still in progress

Review of eligibility

• We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.

Background check

• We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

On the PR Tracker website - for the PA account, Biometrics, Medical exam and Eligibility are marked as completed and Background verification says "In progress".

What does this sudden Final Decision Date update mean? Is PPR Imminent?

thats some awsome news congratulations, I submitted around the same time august 1st just completed my biometrics and medical you're on a serious fast track don't worry it just means ppr coming soon

I still haven't heard any updates since submission on August 21st. i called them three times with no updates still. i might just reapply at this point, maybe they lost the application?

Did you get somone live to talk to ? Or just automated ? Call right at 8 am and try again. Did you send a web form ? If not send one, they reply after 5 business days .

oh yea all live reps, they all said wait, and i did send web from like 4-5 times, no reply to any one of them

Yea Outland do their things different. Inland they would ask for information from time you see final decision

Outland Application. Spouse who is sponsor is Canadian citizen, I'm a Brit; both long term international teachers, but reaching retirement. We have a house in BC, our two daughters are Canadian citizens and live in Ontario so hoping the application will go through trouble-free.

Submitted applications in September; sponsor and applicant submissions approved and active in early October. Received request and completed the biometrics mid November. Not heard about medical yet.
In September I submitted all police clearance certificates since age of 18. I can't get a police clearance from HK as they require an IRCC request. I hope with the other five clean police clearance certificates submitted IRCC doesn't require it as that will delay the process by two months.

Anyone had experience of this?

Second question: Once we get final approval, how long can you delay before 'landing'? I heard the mandated medical lasts one year, but can be redone. Wife, the sponsor, wants to work one more school year through to July 2026 before making the move.
