If the application is being filled out by hand do we need to still add the barcodes of the validated forms?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Yes, any form that has a validate button requires the barcode page. They scan this to reduce entry error.

Thanks,
The guide states that "Note: This barcode page will not show up if you fill out your application by hand." so, I'm assuming the answer is no. The barcodes contain data based on the info you fill out, so it will only generate if using a computer to complete the info.

Note that it's always recommended to complete the forms by computer so the agents will be able to read your information properly and get it into the system easier.

I did everything by hand. I know they recommend the barcode but I was confused at first and printed the papers to bring with me for my husband to fill out. So doing the barcode after was not possible. Or maybe it is but I am not tech savvy.

Just type the info into the computer, hit validate, and print. It's to speed up your application entry time while reducing error. It's totally to your benefit to use it. There are lots of people here who can help you, if you get stuck :).

Thanks :) I just sent in my application so I hope it won't make them mad I did it all by hand. I was going to type it after my husband filled it out by hand but someone had told me once the papers were signed I couldn't fill it out and validate it.

Now one more thing to worry about haha

For us, there was only one form that we didn't type the info out: Additional Family Information. Her native language is Russian, and that form requires you to fill it out twice (if applicable): in English/French and native if it's other than those two. The rest we typed it out.

That's not to say it will be an issue. But it can delay the application at the beginning because they have to type it out for you, instead of scan. So you could wait a little longer for AOR. Also, it would be a good idea to make sure, after AOR, that you order the case notes to make sure there is no errors in their entry. Some have reported errors when CIC has to enter the data for you. But cross that bridge when you get to it..

Thanks for letting me know that. I figured it might possibly slow it down a little as they would have to enter in info. I hope not too much.
