Hi all,

Here is the deal, I have done my ECA only for Masters since I got my Masters in US.

Here are my questions,

1.when asked about Educational History on the Express Entry application, for Bachelors, they ask a question about ECA there too, since it mentioned "Required". A few of you have mentioned that there is no need for ECA for Bachelors. Do I just say "No" when asked for ECA? (Wont that lead to my profile not being accepted?)

2. Also, do I need to enter all my education details from Primary School too?

I would really appreciate it if you can help me with this.

Dan

Neither I nor my spouse had ECA for our Bachelor's degree we both did it just for our Master's (degree we both had it from US). I never mentioned in my Express Entry profile that we have a Bachelors. We mentioned just our Master's degree. Accordingly in our applications (after ITA), we had just one Education (degree/diploma) mentioned as required. Do you see two there?

Anyways, with just our Master's ECA we got our PR. I hope this helps!

Thank you Sky! Much appreciated!

For my husband, we only had the Master’s Degree evaluated. We have mentioned his Bachelor’s Degree in the EE profile but said ‘No’ to the question regarding ECA for it.

You only get points for the highest degree earned.

No need to mention education as far back as primary and secondary schooling in EE profile.

Put the Masters degree in the Education section. List the bachelors (time you were in undergrad) in the personal history section.

I was in a similar position like you. Only got my US Masters evaluated, and received a PR without any issues.

Hello All, what did you finally choose to do? I am in the same situation, still working on my profile though.

WES certified my US Degree as Masters but I did not get my Bachelors ECAed (would have taken months to get the docs from India). Now, should I just state the Masters on the profile or mention the bachelors and state No ECA on that?

Also, Newbie question - at any point in the entire process will I need the transcripts for all my years of the bachelors? I only have the transcript for the final year - Please advise.

Cheers,
Sid

MS is sufficient by itself. No need for bachelor's transcripts.

Hello All,

I am in similar situation. I also got just my Masters in Software Engineering degree from US evaluated but I am claiming points for the work experience in Software after my Bachelors in IT. Would it cause any issues if I do not mention my Bachelors in my express entry profile. Or should I add it to my education history by selecting ECA field as 'No' for it? And I see people suggesting it to add to personal history. I do not see a way to add it in personal history in the profile. Am I missing something?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Sonalnik
Can you tell me what you did and what was the outcome? I have the same situation. I am claiming experience after my bachelor degree but have not done ECA for bachelor? I have ECA only for master.

Dears,
I just want your advice too. I have done my bachelors from a online university which is no more running and unable to get the transcript for ECA. but i have done my Masters from an authentic university using that bachelors degree. they accepted it. now my question is will they ask for my bachelor to submit after i am getting ITA? because my MBA is not related to my work NOC (IT Filed). please help. thank you

You can get only the Masters evaluated. If it is equivalent to Canadian Masters, then the Bachelors degree will not matter. However, if the Masters degree is anything less than Canadian Masters (such as post graduate diploma, one year study, two your study etc.) then you will need Bachelors evaluation also.

Hey. When uploading documents, did you just attach masters degree or also bachelors degree for which no ECA was done?
