I'm not sure, coz I used credit card. But try to check with the bank, idlf it is internationally recognized. Then there should be no problem.

Hi to all...

So glad I found this thread..

I landed last July 2010. I started processing my CNO along with my PR application but was hesitant to pay the fees because of doubts that we may not make it for PR.

I paid the fees only 2 months after I got here. Fortunately, I was allowed to pay only the 175+++ because I got an old set of application package but the disadvantage is that there are some revisions in the new forms not found in the old ones so I need to request some more documents from back home. I was able to comply with all these documents, I think middle of June 2011. I am also an NCLEX passer but didnt bother to indicate it because of the thought that Im not getting any credit for it and also to save time..

I tried calling CNO to ask about the status of my assessment and the only info they give me is that they have received all needed documents and that I just have to wait for the result of the assessment..

I applied for RN registration without having the idea that most often our BSn education is only equivalent to RPN here unless you graduated or have recent nursing experience within the last five years. I could have applied for RPN registration then and save much time..

Anywayz, still waiting for the result now..A lot of friends told me that even though I applied for RN and may not be eligible to take CRNE, I maybe given 2 options..take RPN exam or immediately do bridging program..( im not sure how true..)

To those who have already gotten the result of their assessment, pls share with me ur timelines from complete submission to result of assessment..

Thanks everyone

hello,

sa pagkaka alam ko po, u need to be a graduate of BSN degree and a board passer in the country you got your degree. I have applied sa CARNA, but CARNA and CNO has almost the same rules, and i think all through out the different provinces you have to be a board passer before you can submit assessment for eligibility to sit for the CRNE.

but do read thru the CNO website, to make sure.

hope this helps, :)
hi. I'm also an RN. I'm planning to apply for registration to CARNA. But I'm a bit confused since they require registration from the country where I'm working. I've been here for 4 years now, and is going to end my contract soon. Unfortunately, there's no licensing body here for nurses. Maybe I'll apply as RPN first. What do you think? Does practical nurse in Alberta has a chance of becoming an RN? I'll be landing in CALGARY on MARCH 2012 :)

hi jijitipie,

ung september or october ba start ng application mo sa cno or this is when lahat ng documents mo nasubmit mo na sa cno?

nagstart kasi ako ng application almost the same months as you pero june 15, 2011 ko lang namail ang last set of documents ko.

Just checking timelines..

thanks..

Hello guys! Ako po yung thread starter. I'm really sorry nawala ako ng matagal. Hirap pala magadjust sa bagong buhay dito sa Canada...saka...hehe
nakalimutan ko password ko haha ayan nakuha ko na ulit.

Update lang po. Pinayagan ako ng CNO kumuha ng CRNE exam.

Timeline:

Sometime in August 2010 = Request ng RN application package sa CNO. Paper package pa nung time na to at 178 dollars lang
September 2010 = Started sending requested documents by CNO. Like Verification of Education etc.
January 2011 = Option form with BET arrived, Verification of employment etc.
April 2011 = Last requirement submitted, which is BET, hehe natagalan ako sagutan kasi...nabobobo. Confirmed completion of
requirements thru email by assessor (Mary Edward)
July 2011 = Landed in Toronto. (followed up status of app thru email -they replied it was still "on queue")
August 2011 = nainip nako - RPN package submitted. (followed up status again, personally at CNO Davenport Road, still "on queue"
September 13, 2011 = Decision mail arrived at the house. I am eligible for RN exam daw...masaya pero biglang kinabahan

DETAILS:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Grad.
Staff Nurse 2008-2011. Roughly three and a half years. But at the time of submission of requirements, only two years and 8 months
No master's degree
They sent me the BET.

Sana mas mabilis napo this year. Goodluck po ulit sa ating lahat!

wow CONGRATS PAULFERRER!!!

it's really kalurki to look for a job here in canada, if you're not yet registered as a nurse...buti ka pa inabot mo pa yun $178, kasi $678 na my payment eh.. i'm just on the "verification of employment" stage...GOODLUCK!!! ;D ;D ;D
