hello everybody, i sent this post to help all of you. If you are a filipino and got married outside philippines, you must declare or register your marriage to the philippines embassy or consulate in the country you got married. Then, the embassy (or consulate) will register your marriage to the DFA Manila and the NSO (can take 3 to 6 months). After you got registred to the NSO, you can obtain the true copy of marriage contract on security paper from the NSO, because the visa office for your application will ask you to obtain this document. If your marriage is not registered to the NSO, your marriage is not valid by the visa office.

I didn't register my marriage in the Phils.consulate here in Canada..and they only asked us to send our marriage certificate..

really? you were lucky, because mine was very long to be recorded by the NSO. The visa office asked us to do it. But it's a good proof than our marriage is genuine.

I think if your applying spousal sponsorship inland Report of Marriage thru consulate is not required. But from experience ROM is a pre requisite in renewing Phil. passport for married woman.
