First time tax payer here, So please bear with me if some of the questions appear to be too basic/obvious and/or right terminology isn't used.
I started working last year in Montreal, Quebec and before that I was an (international) student for 2 years, again in Montreal, Quebec. I never filed tax before, as a student. Recently, I created a profile on SimpleTax and started filling out the form. Other than referencing the T4 form received from current employer, I have some questions,

Recently, I created a profile on SimpleTax and started filling out the form. Other than referencing the T4 form received from current employer, I have some questions,
- For all this time I have been staying in a rented apartment and I remember reading somewhere that you can ask for some sort of refund wherein the maximum rent declared was capped at CA $600. Is this still applicable? Could someone share more on this? Steps, required documents, etc.?
- I paid tuition fee as a international student, is there any amount I can claim on the fee paid? Not sure but it seems like it is far more beneficial to ask for a claim when you've applied for permanent residency.
- I buy monthly STM passes. Is there any sort of claim I can ask for this?
