Filing Office and Application Fee

My wife is about sending her application for Study permit, my questions are:-

1. Which office will be the best for her to file her application here in the United States?
2. Does it make any difference where you file or not?
3. What is the best way of making a payment (application fee)?
4. She tried to make an online payment but there was no option to pay for any office outside canada, am I wrong?
5. Is there anything else I need to do/know?

Thank you everyone in this forum willing to help some of us who doesn't know what needs to be done, but I'm sure that what we are learning through this experience will help others in the future, please help me to answer the above questions. Thank you so much.

1. The closest one to where she is living.
2. No, but if an interview is required, do you really want to be flying across the US?
3. It is on the web site.
4. No, there is no on line payments for offices outside Canada (There is an exception for nordic countries)
5. Make sure she shows sufficient funds.

Thanks PMM, but on payment, can she send a money order attached to the application? How about travellers cheque? It looks like all offices are far from Texas.

No, you can't use traveller's cheques. Here are the payment instructions for Buffalo, all the other offices are the same in the US. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/buffalo/visas/fees-frais.aspx?lang=eng&view=d
